I like how the caster refer FLY as LCS domestic powerhouse (I do believe they try to say players are local but that's how chinese can sometimes be inexact) and FNC “A dominate first-place finish in the LEC spring season”
It’s just the translations. It’s hard translating Chinese to English and vice versa. It’s more like “as a strong team domestically, they came out on top against many strong opponents to qualify for MSI” but it doesn’t sound as good/concise as “domestic powerhouse toppling giants to qualify”.
Fly is a domestic powerhouse. EU had its chance to pick up Bwipo and Inspired, now they are NA players like it or not. You cant cope ur way out of losing to Fly with "EU imports" when you had a chance to pick them up first.

Not that I dont think FNC should lose but VCS teams actually have a pretty good record against EU teams. In 2019 they were the only team aside from IG to have a 2-0 record over G2.
On paper, my biggest concern would be how Oscar would fare against Kiaya. Other than that, the remaining roles will edge and maybe gap GAM (Assuming Noid has a nice day and Noah doesn't commit crucial misplays)

I miss DFM the LJL top team and the only minor region team than can toe to toe against Major region teams.
Few times yes, but not really, only time they made Group Stage, it was by going 1-1 Vs C9 in 2021, but their win was the tiebreaker, so they qualified. In Group Stage it wasn't competitive beyond their 0-6 record. In 2023, DFM went 0-4 at MSI, 0-4 at WC. 2022 MSI 1-5 and 2021 MSI 2-4. 2 more achievements they had it was going 1-3 Vs RNG and a close match Vs DK in 2021 MSI, that DFM threw.
The only other time they advance to a 2nd stage, it was in 2018 Vs EDG and they lost 0-3, that EDG just dominated. Now you know why they lost their slot, as well as Riot don't want to spend a lot of money, so LJL got cut off.
We almost have more viewrs as NA and more engagement but competitively we suck.... this Is soo weird...

LJL teams are now in the same domestic league as PSG so they only send 1 team which is PSG. DFM lost to them at regional finals. So they gave that slot to LCK's second team. But honestly they should have make it so that DFM play here too.

FLY makes it through no problem. They match really well into Hyper-Aggressive teams like PSG because they just out-manuever them and punish. They lost to TL because TL is very aggressive AND has crazy good map play. No way to counter them. But against PSG?

Okay so maybe LEC getting GAM is really good. Theoretically, its a free win. Practically though, GAM smashed a TL that put T1 on the backseat at a tournament where there was practically a powergap between LEC and LCS. Levi and Kiaya, and the VCS as a whole, have got a lot to prove right now.
On paper, FNC should probably be fine against GAM. In reality, honestly I would expect G2 to maybe lose a game. I think FNC might get smashed.
