At first instaGid is hard as hell. But once you continue playing it- you get used to it, and start getting hang of it. At least how it worked for me. At first it seemed impossible!
this morning i attempted a bot match on this map on adept, and used some made it challenging but not too challenging, and did what i could to make it like xan, cleared out the bot, now i'm going to fight xan himself, i'll let you know if i ever beat him.

Beating Xan is easy what's annoying are the matches against "The Corrupt" in the lead up to Xan, because they're off killing each other at the other end of the map and racking up a lead against you.
I have played for several years, but never managed to go for the storyline higher than masterful. I remember that the main problem was, that in deathmatch the AI were more quickly in killing each others. In opposition to that, having just ONE opponent like XAN, it was quite easy to win, because he couldn't get frags from somewhere else than me.

When we had lan parties in our dorm, I would casually challenge people to a game of unreal tournament :) Unfortunately I was the only one smiling after the match was over, and they never played me again :( Hans Dampf Actually, the one on one fights were the hardest. When there are a lot of people, you can steal kills, and as long as you had the most kills, you win. It's much tougher when you cannot be cheap like that in 1v1.
Richard Smith yeah exactly. I played a one on one in a ut league once and I thought i knew the map very well and I thought i wasnt top bad... but oh my god... He was able to collect every shield belt because he knew exactly when the next belt respawns and when he has to be there... that made me quit the league because it was another Level of game control... outstanding
I miss this awesome game, came close to finishing but unfortunately had to switch to Windows 8 and could not install more windows 7 missing, is there a game that made me happy for a long time since the year I was born until well into the my teens (loved watching my dad play and so learned) I hope one day I can play again.

Its unfortunate that no modern game has been able to encapsulate the arena that UT99 had. This was the shooter to start all modern day shooters. I remmeber this, Rainbow 6, Baldurs gate and Neverwinter Nights as games that i adored when i was younger.
I have beat this game 3 times. One time on Masterful (or was it Inhumane?). For some reason (just coincidence?), two of those times when I finally beat him it was Christmas morning, before the rest of my family would wake up. So now watching this reminds me of Christmas morning as a child, lol. Thought I would share.
Maybe ,The game set him up with +3 skill if you seen the sliders for botskill , and there are some tweaking done to him. He more aggresive than Barak with Flak. Anyway Loque was aimbot and Tammerline had +0.9 to aim where 1.0 is you never miss and if the missed then the weapon mad max aim or spread or their level was to low and not allowed to like Loque headshot at novice.
If you guys liked the old UT's then you should try the new UT4, it's currently being tested and is in pre-Alpha stages right now, but is open to the public to test and give feedback as they work to perfect it for the official release. You know how to run this game on Windows 10? I tried Installing multiple times, the game either makes mouse movement too jittery and sluggish, or the game actually speeds up and slows down constantly during my playthroughs.... :( Apart from that, amazing video! Amazing hitscan aim.
FLAWLESS! But didn't you change the FOV slightly? The screen looks like stretched a bit. On the side note - I learned a few moves from this video. The possibilites of moving around this map is why I like it so much. This allows me to virtually appear everywhere and put a flak shell to the back of an unsuspecting opponent. Yes, I prefer flak cannon, because I'm not that accurate (I wish I could be able to do accurate shock combo on the move!), which is why I prefer brute, up-close force. Sometimes I even ditch the enforcer in favour of impact hammer after respawn, and I score more frags that way :D
Annnnd you can still play this game today. Nothing is more fun to boot up this old beauty and play a couple of rounds with a big group of friends/acquaintances/work buddies.

You are correct, however don't forget that there are spawn frags in UT as well + camping is possible and sometimes effective in duels (in controlling shield belts, amps etc). But that's far more controlled than in COD, you are right. You can build great strategies against individual opponents that way.
The first time I played this game was around 2008. My first play was a test at Barricade with bots. I spawned near the pulse gun and then I got killed. That made me lower the game speed to the 50% and difficulty level to the easiest one. Now I still play it with some increadible mods ( Multi Capture the flag, Matrix-Max Payne mod, Nali Weapons III, a mod for playing as a Unreal Monster). I have increased overall difficulty at the first level which makes you took the same amount of damage as boots. But I haven't changed game speed a single time; remains at 50%. I'm so used to playing it at that speed that any different speed seems to be unrealistic and UNREAL for me.
I remember this fucker when I played this way back in the day. Took me a whole lot to beat him but when i finally did, it became one of my most treasured gaming memories.

how do you do the taunts so quickly?
You can assign custom keys for each taunt in one tab of the "Options" menu. Can't really remember which was.

loved the shock rifle too, and when i got couple bullets left trow that thing away, better take a new rifle with enough bullets in it
and i used the side way flip too a lot to dodge ^^
and that "laugh" taunt *hahaha*, i used it so many times xD
miss those old days..

i mostly played online multiplayer instagib CTF in UT GOTY long time ago.
I remember playing Xan when I was a kid, and the only way I could kill him was alternate fire with the flak cannon as he went through those tunnels with the health vials.
Dunno if it was Godlike, though.

I think you can bind taunts to your keyboard through the console.
