Idk where these lobsters came from but when I was growing up my mom would cook live lobster once a week and when she’d throw them in the pot she’d have to hold the lid down to keep them from jumping out they’d be thrashing around so hard and it’d sound like they were screaming but supposedly they don’t scream it supposed to be air and water escaping their shells, sounded like they were screaming their asses off to me though but whatever.

We were taught to place the lobster in the freezer and put them in a state of hibernation and then immediately put into boiling water. I was shocked that the live lobster was completely docile. I will continue to do what I was taught by my mother and freeze first.

0:43 - The crime here is cooking on an electric stove. I was forced to do that when I was in college and the apartment I lived in only had an electric stove. When you've grown up as a kid using a gas stove using an electric was pure torture. Never again will I use an electric stove.

I think if you boil right after killing it, there shouldn't be much bacteria. Just buy a lobster, quickly kill it, (some people freeze it, which is fine too) and then boil it.

Reichstof Harmful microbes will die immediately upon boiling; no microorganism can survive 312 Degrees Fahrenheit because microorganisms are made up mostly of water which will evaporate at that temperature.
That being said, microbes have a defense against being eaten while they decompose organic matter. Many microbes produce toxins that, it just so happens, are not destroyed or made less harmful by boiling.
It would take almost an hour after the lobster's immune system ceases to become a problem. The immune system wouldn't shut down until 10-15 seconds after crushing the lobster's brain, so it's really not a problem to kill the lobster first. Granted, it'd likely die just as fast by boiling.
