Keep the riff raff out. Great move!
Many shopping malls were forced to place restrictions on teens as well.
Look up the definition of segregation. Try again.
@@cremebrulee4759 Here you go: segregation (noun) · segregations (plural noun)
the action or state of setting someone or something apart from others:
"a model that perpetuates the segregation of older people" · "the segregation of science from philosophy"
the enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment:
"an official policy of racial segregation" · "people began protesting the segregation of lunch counters"
Do you understand it now?
Lmao, creme brûlé, you’re a clown. Segregation doesn’t have to be based on race. Segregation is just separating groups of people. Can be race, age, gender, height, anything really. Religion. Medical care. As long as you can find distinct differences, you can segregate people into camps.
@@JMWexperience So kids are "segregated" from buying cigarettes until they are 18? And also "segregated" from buying alcohol until they're 21? Not by a long shot. This video clip does not represent segregation. Now *ageism* is a prejudice that older folks have to deal with, and it is a form of bigotry because there is NO chance of changing that status once "anyone else" decides or determines you to be in that category. Forms of bigotry that *could* be dealt with by requiring certain testing and proving of your qualifications for whatever licensing you may require as you get older. STOP ALL BIGOTRY. @@bvm3925 I never said that, I think you completely misunderstood my comment hahaha. I’m liking the concept. I don’t enjoy going to places where, mostly the younger generation thinks it’s ok to use their phone on speaker…no one wants to hear your conversation. I was just in Wawa yesterday, getting a drink out of the coolers which is located near the restroom. I could hear a very loud conversation coming from the restroom. At the register, I heard the other person on the phone say “then there was this incident that happened in 2021” they were yelling & swearing the whole time. It was the longest 20 minutes in Wawa ever.
I think it should have been capped off at maybe 30 and maybe add a dress code or something to it. First, making the age younger for women than men is age discrimination.
Second, making it 35 for men will limit a lot of potential mature customers.
Third, the brain fully matures around the age of 25. Once someone gets to their upper 20s, age no longer dictates maturity.
First of all the age difference is because most men have wives or girlfriends who are few years younger. The owner wants men who are 35-40 years old to be able to bring their 30-34 year old wives to dinner at his place.
Secondly there are no federal or state laws that prohibit rules against those under 40 years old.
Thirdly I’ve seen hundreds of people in their 20’s who still have the mentality & emotional maturity of your average 8-10 year old. They’re still treated like children by those around them so they act like children. Since they are a privately owned establishment, I'm thinking they can do what they want within the law. If they thrive, they are right, and if they crash, then it's their money lost.
The issue is that this isn't within the law. If they want to be a private club, they probably could get away with this, but as a public restaurant they're definitely breaking the law. Even if they can be age restricted, having a different age for men and women is going to push it over the line. You can't have separate rules for men and women.
Attorneys are going to have a field day with the civil rights violations involved with that policy.
"If they thrive, they are right"

@@SmallSpoonBrigade The restaurant is a private business. They can set their own rules and policies. If they have a policy saying nobody under 30 is allowed, it's their right to have that policy. Maybe you like it or don't mind the noise, but myself, I like to have less quiet. There are people out there feel the same way.
@@ActionGamerAaron owning people =/= owning a restaurant. How does your brain work???
@SmallSpoonBrigade. Anyone with a brain who takes a moment to think about it would soon realize why it’s 30 for women & 35 for men. It’s not because anyone thinks males mature later than females. It’s because most men have wives or girlfriends that are a few year younger. The owner wants men who are 35-40 years old to be able to bring their 30-34 year old ladies to dinner. It’s that simple.
I think it's a brilliant idea and I hope it finds its way throughout the country. Mature diners talk more softly so as not to disturb others, and every other word does not begin with the letters S, F, or N!

Anyone who says no has never been a waiter
One night, out of an entire life. A friend was in trouble. He needed another busboy. I had nothing to do. Would I PLEASE! I did. At one point it was time to deliver a birthday cake to a table. The practice at my friend's restaurant was that someone from the kitchen took out the cake and lead in the singing of happy birthday. Now, I used to be a singer. I sang on the radio (local, not network) and I sang at Grange suppers. I was particularly known for singing the National Anthem at baseball games. I took the cake, carried it out and began singing. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you..." No one was joining in. Everyone just looked at me open mouth. I tried to finish the song. It just kept going on. Finally, it was over. Dead silence. I returned to the kitchen. Had I gotten the wrong table? No. But I had sung Happy Birthday to the tune of Star-Spangled Banner. (Try it. It works.)
I have and I said no so…. You must have different ethnic but that’s ok
I live in a small town. The kids here say yes sir no maam and pick up trash they see for the most part. Don't blame youth, blame poor parenting
Do they give up their seat for an elderly person? I was recently telling my 92 year old father how that’s a thing of the past with kids now.
At what age do the have to get a clue? I'll ponder that the next time I have to stand with my cane on the bus for 15 miles beause a lot of people under 50 cling to their seats like burrs.
What small town do you live in? Sounds like in the 50s.
@@studio107bgallery4 Carmel , California
As a small town californian I agree.
They're going to lose money over this, No Doubt.
Highly doubt they will.
Oh the irony! A restaurant with a primarily black clientele discriminating against a particular group.
Sounds awfully Racist to me😂😂😂
They just be actin REAL!
Oh the ignorance to make it a racial thing. They are not saying your parents can't come, just you kiddo
You have to be out of you're out of your mind to think that age (something that affects everyone) is synonymous with race
Sounds like diversity, equity and inclusion! LOL!!!
Right!! The North American Indigenous People should have NEVER let your ancestors set their pink toes on this land!
But not equality given the men 35 and under and the women 30 and under isn't treating them equally. No doubt that's yet another male 'privilege'.
@@secondchance6603 As long as it's applied to all races, I see nothing wrong with it.
@secondchance6603 The difference is because most men have wives or girlfriends who are few years younger. The owner wants men who are 35-40 years old to be able to bring their 30-34 year old wives to dinner at his place.
Good luck with the discrimination lawsuits
It’s private, not public.
@gooddad3575. There are no federal or state laws that protect those under 40 years old from age discrimination.
Under the ADEA it is unlawful to discriminate against any individual age 40 or older because of their age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including but not limited to, recruitment, hiring, firing, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training.
@@extremebeastreaction6245 they wanted people 40 yo and older come to their restaurant.
This is a restaurant, not a job recruitment.
This is illegal. It's called age discrimination. This restaurant is going to get sued. They can't do that. It's like banning black people.
The point is so that black people have somewhere in st louis to go to and not have to deal with youth gangs. It's a black owned business with a mainly African American clients. Nothing discriminative about it. This will take off, you watch.
Niiiiice,!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤...do tired of going out and hearing bratty kids, whiny baby, jeez. I'm paying good money for a nice experience. My parents never took us out as kids. Either
I agree. Good for the restaurant. These younger customers are wild. Hopefully, this becomes the norm.
Yes and those ratchet types from St Louis don’t tip.
Trash people eat at the waffle house, most help there look like they did time anyway snd can handle the club trash crowd, they stick together brawls in women's bathrooms ate destroyed and the doors are locked hairpieces everywhere,@😮
Smart business owner, taking care of his customers.
Like a good business owner should!
Does every place need an age rating like movies or TV shows?
and employees
Not just an age issue. Their customer base is black so it is an age and culture issue. Plus if customer base is Caribbean there are plenty of stories of small black owned Caribbean tourist hotels/spots not happy with certain generation American black behavior and attitudes and try avoiding them.
Don’t blame them. American blacks are the only ones that make excuses and blame society and 200 year old events. Caribbeans and Africans from Nigeria come here and succeed. Some become doctors even!
Thumbs down for being racist!
We have 55 plus communities, why not restaurants?
He's not doing anything wrong. Grown-ups have got to get away and regroup.
Yes he is, age discrimination is quite illegal
This will DEFINITELY stop crime from happening there.
Lol ❗
It will, actually.
A place where you can eat without children screaming their heart out? What is this place's address?
If you think this is about kids go back to school! Many in their 20’s don’t have no respect and are ghetto. They can’t handle a mix drink then talking on the phone all loud or smelling like weed. The same thing that happened at TGIF if you go smelling like weed you will not have service.
35 y/o are children? this is why younger folks don't respect you skeletons

Yes, it's illegal regardless of what the motivation is.
No it’s not illegal. It’s a privately owned business & there are no federal or state laws that protect those under 40 years old against age discrimination.
Old folks be the some of ones being messy and starting mess 😂
The real question is how old are his employees? Cuz you can get a 20 year old to run around busing tables and doing dishes a lot faster and easier than someone in their 30’s. And that would be kinda weird if all these older people go to a restaurant where there is younger employees. Maybe the tips would be better who knows maybe not even
Employees are vetted and interviewed first. Young customers are not. Understand the difference.
Should be the same age for both sexes, but I understand they don’t want the St Louis “teens” robbing the place 😂
Presumably that's because there's typically an age gap when dating. But, that is probably going to be the nail in the coffin for the restaurant. You simply can't have different rules based on different sexes.
@SmallSpoonBrigade. Tell that to the Anti-Choice f@cist$. They’re passing all kinds of laws that only apply to one sex.
now if we could just keep them out of the movie theatre...
I think that's going too far. I worked in a movie theater before, are you saying they shouldn't hire kids? Sounds like a belly-up business to me
Who goes to movies snymore?😮
But where would the head lice go?
@@frankcorrea8691men 35 and older
How do they know who identifies as a man or woman? What about people who identify as unicorns? Or animals?
Yeah! Imagine a restaurant that only allows non-trans people!
I'm over 40, but this is absolutely fucking ridiculous, especially where there is NO EQUALITY with the age. Both men and women should be of equal age (meaning both should be 30 or 35) and to put an age restriction at 30 or 35 overall is stupid. This restaurant maybe doing fine now, but I don't see it lasting very long.
It will not, as it will be destroyed by people under 30 like most other restaurants in the area. Should black people not have a place to go to relax in peace??? Guess not.
The difference is because most men have wives or girlfriends who are few years younger. The owner wants men who are 35-40 years old to be able to bring their 30-34 year old wives to dinner at his place.
Joke is on them, Age has nothing to do with maturity level.
Exactly
It's easier to just cut the cloth with the broad knife. I understand where they're coming from. That being said, I do agree with you

That is not at all what crime stats show. The joke is on your denial of the facts.

Isn’t this discrimination tho? I’m surprised there aren’t Karen’s etc freaking out bout it
are they saying that after the year of 30, they act civilized? We know who they are keeping out.
Even if they magically became civilised by 30 (They DON'T)
The distance from your car to the restaurant is still ghetto/war zone.

Your business, your rules......but I hope it doesn't backfire.
For the most part, but I definitely see it backfiring. Especially in the sense of employment, if he refuses to hire younger people or only hire guests for instance, he is setting himself up for a lawsuit.
I'm sorry but in my opinion this is age discrimination
His restaurant. His rules.
no u have to abide by the rules of the state look it up
All businesses should implement this.
Shut up
You can restrict the age of your customers, but having a different age for female and male could lead to a lawsuit. A lot of bars stopped having ladies night because a few were sued for sexual discrimination. Basically you have to have the same rules for both men and women.
There are no state or federal laws that protect those under 40 from age discrimination.
