I'll be telling you about how you can use it with Ollama & Groq for a fully local setup. You can use it automate coding, writing, analyzing, summarizing and much more. It can almost automate anything without the hassle of prompting AI models. It works with Ollama (for Local models), OpenAI, Groq, HuggingFace, Gemini and much more. If you run "fabric --gui", you can select any of the models, including ollama, including GPT-4o, if you set the OpenAI API key during "fabric --setup"

I get a 404 error for the url that ollama is using. When I check the local url in the browser it says ollama is running,
Nice tool. But I cant get it working with phi3. 404 error because it looks for localhost:11434\v1\models but the server is not running under models? Please help😢

hey codeking, for the below median intelligence/initiative crowd (moi), are there any install options that dont involve typing voodoo incantations into ancient command terminals or reading hieroglyphics in github? anything which can just be downloaded and installed and used from the GUI?
I don't think anything like this exists that is easy to install or GUI based.

Where are you using Fabric in WSL or Windows? If on windows, then install Ollama on windows or if you're using it on WSL then install Ollama in WSL.

Any suggestions for copy/pasting text since pb paste doesnt seem to work for windows wsl? Have you been able to pipe together something like a text conversion from a pdf to run a pattern on?
I believe it could be done. But, I haven't tried.
pbcopy/pbpaste is only for Mac OS, but can be simulated in a bash shell:
1. install xsel: sudo apt install xsel
2. Add following lines to your .bashrc:
alias pbcopy=’xsel --clipboard --input’
alias pbpaste=’xsel --clipboard --output’
3. Relaunch your terminal and now you have pbcopy and pbpaste commands in linux (bash)

None of this "fabric" videos talks about the limitations of offline models. The idea is great and working well, but trust me your computer is not enough for offline quality model. With some tinkering you get results but this local llm topic is a rabithole if you dont want to spent the money.

Yes I believe this is the issue.
It says bind:only one usage of each socket address is normally permit.
Edit: I solved it. I believe Ollama was already linked to another program and it automatically reconnects each time but I found this:
Get-Process ollama* | Stop-Process -Force | ollama serve.
