I am currently working on the heart chain sweater and I’m loving the experience!!! I’m using 3 strands of drops alpaca in maroon mix and it’s making such a pretty fabric. I’m also cruising through it and I consider myself a slow knitter.
So nice to discover that so many people are planning to knit the Heart Chain sweater! I'll also do it soon, with 1 strand of Drops Daisy and one strand of Drops kid-silk in cobalt blue :D It's so nice that you contacted the designer and they answered!
I like to watch everyone’s winter knitting plan videos to get ideas. Right now I’m test knitting the Sandro pullover and the Harris Hood. I’ve lost 2 hand knit hats the first time I wore them so thinking a hood will stay around my neck if I need to take it off my head, lol. I have the heart chain in my favorites- not sure I’ll do it. Maybe the KAL will motivate me to knit it :)
oh my god that hat story sounds devastating!!! i once lost one glove and still haven't recovered, can't imagine losing a hat twice 😭 we'll probably start the KAL on valentines day if you'd like to join! 💕
Yes please, I really want to knit the Heart Chain sweater, I already bought the pattern and the yarn for it but I haven’t started yet, it would be so fun to knit in a group sharing ❤❤❤
the heart chain sweater is also in my winter knitting plans! i think it would be very cute to start the kal on valentine's day, even if it means our sweaters would probably be done by the end of winter 😊 hopefully the extended size range will be ready by then
i went and held the yarn next to the wardrobe and you may just be a genius for this! would need to figure out how to make that work with my wardrobe, but darker buttons definitely would look cute!
Your hair looks so good! Love everything in this video and cant wait to see it all as you finish. I'm currently working on a Braidy Loop sweater and really loving it
This was so fun to watch! 🎉 I would love to knit the heart chain sweater (planning to knit off gauge in smaller gauge to get a smaller size). If there is a smaller size released I’d choose knitting for olive heavy merino too!
Would love to be part of the KAL for the heart chain sweater! And I think starting it around valentines day is a great idea! I am thinking of making it in one strand of Cascades 220 in the colour Helleborus. I think a pink cabled sweater would be perfect to wear in the fall too 💕
how wonderful!!! that color looks amazing too! i'll be keeping everyone posted over on instagram, it will indeed probably be a valentines day cast on 💕
Loved your plans! For the tie front cardigan you can have a look at the Epiphany cardigan by Anna Hermann Sorensen. It is designed for 2 strands of mohair so that you don't have to modify the Robinson pattern. Hope this helps!😊
Also purchased the heart chain sweater in Korean on Korean platform(because I am Korean). Surprised to know that this pattern is so popular in the English speaking world! I might cast this on or a v-neck sweater 😊
Really enjoyed your plans while working on my Calista Sweater 🤎 Heart chain sweater is gorgeous, I m so happy you decided to knit it , so I can see the progress 😍 I want to try pernilla so much! How soft is it to the skin? One day I hope I knit it too! I am also knitting two big projects as a gift knit, they have to be ready by April! Looking forward to see your progress ❤
thanks so much for another really nice comment!!! excited to see your progress on all those knits 😍 pernilla is HEAVENLY! truly, so soft and so wonderful to knit with! hands down one of my favorite yarns out there 💗
I made a dress with Filcolana Arwetta and Tilia in antique rose and the colour is just amazing! So if you are considering this combo I highly recommend ;)
And also - about the yarn you used for Ingrid sweater - I also highly recommend the Paul Cardigan, I'm doing it right now in almost exact same colour (different yarn, but also marzepan-ish ;) and it looks sooo nice, very elegant. I want to add beigy-gold beading across the button band to make it a bit more festive :D
ahhh wonderful! i ended up getting some peruvian in old rose online (they don't have that color at my lys) and i'm not entirely sure the old rose will match the antique rose tilia so i'll have to gather the courage to take my ball of non-lys yarn to my lys to compare 🥹🥰
I’m knitting the heart chain sweater rn in the largest size and the pattern is so poorly done for the larger sizing. It wanted me to stop at like 3/4 sleeve length and was going to be super cropped on me. And I’m 5 foot 2
The heart chain sweater looks so lovely, unfortunately i have just now started to knit a cabled headband, and never before knitted a cabled thing ever, so i think it would a little much for my experience right now. But will be excited to see your version for it! ❤
okaaaay so the heart chain sweater is just sooo beautiful, i gush everytime i see it! And i must agree the colour bark from kfo is the perfect neutral brown, my mom made the mixed rib cami in it and i totally plan on stealing it🤭 i also think your blue cardigan is gonna be swooo pretty, its a good combination of colour and texture!
@@candidknit yes i am sooo tempted! i also dont have any plans for a sweater for now, the only i worry is that it will be too warm to wear it this winter/spring…
totally get that! some of my chunkier sweaters don't get as much wear throughout the season, but i do appreciate them extra when i do get to put them on! i try to make more wearable pieces generally, so the occasional very seasonal knit can also be enjoyed hehe
update: i checked it out and you might have just changed my life 🥰 can't wait to try it! do you have any experience with this technique altering your gauge?
I am currently knitting the Haru Cardigan and oh. My. God. It takes soo long with all of These Little cables but i am already in love with the Look of it, so i think it will be worth it for me in the end. Also i find the pattern to be really easy to follow, haven‘t run into any issues yet. 🤗
you can do it!! it took sooo long but at one point i started finding so much comfort in the stitch pattern that i was almost sad when i had to switch to ribbing 🥹 good luck and have fun! 💗
The heart chain sweater is a better outcome than I hoped for (also, so kind of you to wait!). I think starting it on Valentine's day would be super cute, and still tie it to that day, what was your initial link to the KAL I believe. If the bigger sizes are not available yet then I'm absolutely fine with waiting a bit longer than the rest ;-)
@@candidknit Go ahead and rock it if those are colors you enjoy! And btw, I've had similar fit issues when branching out. I know that with big designers like PetiteKnit, I will get what I see and it'll fit well, but I've had to restart or completely abandon pieces from smaller designers. I think the reason is that there are a lot of creative people who make beautiful garments, but they're not made with a good fit in mind... Thinking about all the designs with minimal or non-existent short rows and so on
definitely get what you're saying! i do feel like some bigger designers also keep their patterns less complex/more beginner friendly (mostly thinking of my favourite things knitwear here as i'm currently working up her sweater no. 25) 👀 so i was wondering whether they know something about working at a gauge that works for more people, versus smaller designers maybe more so going off their personal gauge? i'm assuming it's a combination of various factors, but so interesting to think about!
@@candidknit I think it's one thing to be able to write a good knitting pattern, and a completely different skill to design a well-fitting garment, whether it's knit, crochet or sewing
yay! it seems like we'll probably cast on on valentine's day 💕 i'll be keeping everyone posted on instagram and try to figure out how to make a community post here on youtube as well
What was the name of the yarn shop you recommend? My husband is from Belgium so we're there sometimes to visit friends and family and I'm always on the look for fun yarn shops to visit. I haven't been so lucky so far though...
it's called Wolder, in Gent! it's close to the city center, but so not really located in the center itself. the store isn't big (at the moment, this might change since they're moving very soon) but they have many nice yarns ✨ it creates a lovely feeling, almost like you're entering a colorful and well-organized yarn cave 🥰 but more well-lit than a cave 😂
@candidknit Thanks. I was actually on my way there during the fall but due to a large traffic jam (welcome to Belgium...!) we only arrived in Ghent during the evening. But I really loved the city so decided to try to go back next time we're in Belgium. Now I have one more reason to do that. 🙂
@candidknit That one is very close to my parents in law but so far it has always been closed when we were there. That's the risk work going during vacation time...
thanks for sharing! i fear i must disagree, though 😳 i guess the filmed colors must look more different from real life ones than i thought 😅 i personally don't feel like the sweater no.20 fits my style as well, are you mentioning this because you'd want to join the KAL with that pattern? because i could consider making it a cabled KAL more generally 🥰
you're the second one to suggest this, i'll wait a little longer to see what people say but if more people would like to join with different patterns i'll make it more broad!
Why does everything need to be so planned out? It's a hobby. I just knit on whatever I feel like doing. Plans and deadlines are for work... Just enjoy.
i totally get what you're saying! very glad that seems to work for you 🥰 i do need structure, otherwise i fear i would end up with even more unfinished wips than is already the case 😅 so although it's sometimes confining, planning ahead actually helps me enjoy the hobby! it helps me see projects through thanks to the excitement for what's next! it also helps reduce the overwhelm and choice paralysis the abundance of possible projects can bring, and it seems to keep my yarn shopping in check🥹
Hi, I just found your channel and I love your style of podcast type videos! I appreciate your work you put into your videos :) I was wondering though, and it’s not a huge deal.. but may I ask that you don’t say “omg” in your videos. It can be slightly offensive, but if not I’ll still continue to watch. Btw Happy new year, I hope all is well!! ❤️❤️
thanks so much for the kind comment, but mostly for letting me know how you feel 🩷 i'll definitely try to consciously avoid saying that in the future! i must admit that i do have a habit of saying this a lot... while i was already attempting to express myself differently in general, i should also note that it might take me a while to make this exactly right given how subconscious my use of it has become 😅
