The bed thing is ridiculous on Disney's part. When booking a reservation at any other hotel in the US, I book for a specific bed type, whether one king or two queens. If every other hotel chain can do this, why not Disney?
I know it’s most likely at the end of a long day…but an hour and a half on a bus to get back to Beach Club from Hollywood Studios was the wrong move. Walk. The buses are even along the walking path. 15 minutes and you’re there. Just walk.
Mobile Order: if possible, book early in the day…and if you need to change the time, check to see time to slide the order…I have been lucky moving time back and forward around a pre-scheduled meal…keep in mind this may not work in all situations!!
Genie + shows that Disney isn't really new visitor friendly. I'd love to go back again but being forced to be in my phone all day again makes me not do it.
@@I.rod.2022 I agree Fast Pass was better only because it was free. You stiil had to stay on a schedule to ride. Hopefully Disney will do something like Express Pass at Universal.
OMG. I'm glad you said the same thing I did. I hate having to live in my phone now. It's terrible. I don't want to be on my phone. Give me a touchscreen kiosk. I don't want to figure out how to use my app if I want to get on the rides.
Now I’m going to combine a little bit of helpful advice with a little bit of self congratulation here. We made our trip to Disney World a few weeks ago. And with good use of genie plus functions, we were able to get lightning Lane passes for 4 to 5 high demand rides each day. This allowed us to use standby lines for a much lower demand features that have much shorter waits. It made for efficient and very fun days. I would also like to point out that riding the Tron roller coaster was one of the big goals during this trip. I did pay for the individual lightning Lane for our party. You can also use virtual queue on the same day, which keeps the weight to under an hour. Using this strategy, we were able to ride Tron three times over two days with acceptable investment of money and time.
Disney gift cards can only be used at Disney stores. Most of the restaurants (for example) are individually owned. They will probably take Visa gift cards, etc. But not Disney cards.

I didn’t really want to treat this like a message board, but… I also REALLY don’t want to sit on hold with Disney’s Park customer service, so I have a question regarding the resort recreational activities! While I know that most of the recreational activities that require a reservation involve calling the PLAY number to make the reservation, I don’t know if that means you need to give them a credit card number and pay in advance, or if you pay when you are actually AT the activity? My example refers specifically to Colors of Coronado painting workshop. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all you beautiful Disnerds!! ☺️☺️
You got me curious, so I checked the Disney website. It does say that you will be charged the full price of the workshop if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, so it seems you would have to reserve your spot with a credit card. It also says that reservations are recommended but not required, so I'd imagine you could take your chances with a walk-up and pay then and there. Hope that helps! :)

We nearly had our Disneyland trip ruined because we couldn't get Genie Plus to work. Halfway through the day we realized that there had been an update on Genie Plus, and you actually have to download this update in order to get the Genie Plus to work. After that, everything was fine. But if we hadn't figured it out...

Now everything I loved was ripped out and if I don't keep my nose in the app then I miss so much. I hate not being able to have two attractions at a time in LL queue. It's so wasteful!!! Absolutely ridiculous that Disney arbitrarily assigns room with 2 queens, or one king, or a king and a sofa and you have no say in the matter. So your family of 5 would have needed to make one person sleep on the floor if they had not found a room with 2 queens and a sofa. Nice customer service. Embarrassing.
I’m a family of five and I never got a room that wasn’t appropriate for the size of my party. But I’m pretty Disney prioritize a party of 5 for the room that can fit 5. Of course, if you’re a party of 3, you won’t get that room automatically, because that might mean that a party that needs it won’t. Disney want to make sure the hotels are at their fullest.
Don’t ever go during a pandemic. We went in October 2020 and it was terrible. All the first timers that went, didn’t get to experience the true Disney. We probably won’t ever get to go back.😢
Genie+ is the antithesis of Walt believed. Pay more money to skip the lines. Walt would roll over in his grave. Why not have a plan to skip the lines in the restaurants? Shameful
I have gone to Disneyworld and Disneyland like 10th times, and sailed on Disney Cruise twice, and i cant get enough, ill be there on Christmas again. I Just love Disney, (except the last movies and their crazy ideas about transforming all the charachters into woman with anger issues).

Buy $5 Cokes and $8 Hotdogs and be up charged for every use of a paid app just for the privilege of standing in a slightly less congested line. The only magic left at Disney is the magical way they squeeze you for every penny.. Sorry, Ill pass.

Genie+ should really be cancelled all together. The fast pass system was miles better.
