Over 10 of these games were developed by Firebrand Games, they have made some really impressive ports

even if it’s just a port of the N64 release, Ridge Racer DS is one of the best racing games on the system in my opinion, it had a plethora of tracks and cars, and the fact too you only needed one copy of the game to play multiplayer was also great, and unlike most ds games with download play, all content was available for play instead of just a demo

Monster Jam: Urban Assault was what I had. I unfortunately lost that game.
My favorite monster truck was Spitfire. And apparently it was renamed Dragon's Breath

That Burnout Legends port made my jaw drop from how bad it looked. How do you make a Burnout game with zero sensation of speed?
Man, most of these racing games were made to cash in the success of the Mario Kart series!
the DS port of Sega all stars racing was pretty solid imo, if only being a little bare bones detail wise compared to the main console release

Reviewers destroyed Burnout Legends back in the days, but it wasn't half bad. I mean it wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either.
Unfortunately, you're just wrong because the game is straight up the worst thing I've ever played or looked at. Just compare it to what it was supposed to be (the psp release of the exact same name)
I think that dsi ware games, are still missing 👀
The thing with Nintendo has been almost the last 20 years or so: they don't care about anything else than Mario Kart. I personally love motorsports and that's what I don't get on Nintendo consoles. Not even on the super successful Switch. Still need a reason to buy one - but until Bayonetta 3 I won't.

Imo the DS has tons of good racing games if you know where to look, like Race Driver Create and Race, GRID, NFS ProStreet, NFS Undercover, NFS Carbon, TrackMania, Juiced 2, Monster Jam: Urban Assault, Cars: Race O Rama, Sonic & All Stars Racing, Shrek Smash N Crash Racing, and let's not forget Mario Kart. While there are some terrible DS racers like NFS Most Wanted, Burnout Legends, and...*gulp*...Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride (the worst game I ever played), the DS racing library is still vastly superior to the 3DS one, which barely has ANY racing games period, let alone good ones. So you could say the 3DS got the short end of the stick when it came to racing games.
@LEGO Clayface imo if you wanted to play more simulated racing games I'd go with the psp the DS was more for arcade like racing games and that's where it truly shined
ds had a disadvantage since it didn't have a floating point unit which drastically decreased its ability to handle collisions
No way theres a crazy frog game and doesnt include the music tf

the less we don't talk about Need for Speed Most Wanted Ds the better, NO ONE NEEDS TO REMEMBER THAT TERRIBLE PORT
There are a lot of highly terrible racing games on the DS, but a handful of really good ones if you did through the crap. Basically anything by Nintendo, SEGA or Codemasters is good, most of the stuff by EA, Activision, Majesco, South Peak is fairly good. A few other oddball ones, Asphalt, Dodge Racing (also decent on Wii), Ducati Moto, maybe the MX games, and Wild Ride?
