Thanks for this video. Shockwave, along with Snake Eyes, was my absolute favorite as a kid. Mostly because of the mask. I was always annoyed that the comics did nothing with him.
The Special Missions issue where the guy mistaken for a terrorist is actually the father of the family taken hostage is real cool. He had an unsettling smile on his face at all times but it turned out that was due to nerve damage from shrapnel in Vietnam
i remember shockwave. i never knew much about him, but, he was always one of my favorites along with refrigerator perrys character and beach-head. good role model, shockwave.
Great video very refreshing from my part, at least, one of the things that made G i Joe unique was that was able to recognize the talent of the characters and recruit them for the group and Hama was a genius to put it on the pages
You know, it’s kinda funny, my Airsoft loadout looked just like Shockwave’s first appearance, and I didn’t even know he existed. Of course it was Urban woodland camo instead of T-mout, but still.
There is a big problem with one of IDW's story lines. Crimson Guardsmen start a plan that had four hostage terrorist actions. A nuke plant, A air port control tower and two others. Hama only had ONE joe go to each location. Shackwave was not one of them. This was a perfect story for him. Not only that Hama's choices were off the wall. Cover Girl assaults the air control tower, who is a tanker. For the nuke plant he does not use Airtight. His skills are exactly what is need there. Either way Shockwave was not used. It baffles me.
I remember when they couldn’t use the trademark and hadn’t thought of the “Shockblast” workaround, Hasbo just created a virtually identical character called Wide Scope. His filecard had a different name and hometown and he didn’t sing and he had a dog bug it’s still effectively the same character
Can you make a video explaining the history of G.I. Joe Sgt. Savage? How is it possible that Savage survives being frozen in a block of ice for 50 years? Was Savage on a formula similar to Marvel's Captain America?
Ill have to track a shockwave figure down, im definitely interested. The closest thing i found was from the GI Joe Combat Squad figures, which re used and re tooled sigma six figures to create new characters.
Cause Destro sales to them, and because as the antagonistic part they have to be a worthy challenge for what is sopposed to be the elite of US military force.
Or as I like to call him, "Beachhead's brother who actually showers" 😂🤣

His action figure was awsome. His and beachhead were my favorites. I guess I liked balaclavas.
My younger cousin had his figure, he always called him 'Beach-Head Jr.' when he couldnt remember his name.

I've always liked shockwave because he's a breacher and he kinda looks scary I even have his figure 👍💪
I've never understood why people dislike history videos. What's not to like about getting the background of characters?
Cedric Tripp I don’t know either lol but it’s okay it’s impossible to please every one 😎 Thanks for watching, Cedric
I didnt know, I couldn't even imagine
Along with most of the other 88s Shockwave is super cool.
Shockwave in my eyes is as great at snake eyes looks bad ass
i remember shockwave. i never knew much about him, but, he was always one of my favorites along with refrigerator perrys character and beach-head. good role model, shockwave.

I remember him and I like him because he reminded me of beachhead in appearance.
Thank you. Loved the toy and still have it.
I'm from Dearborn MI. we went to the same schools
Love what you are doing here and it MUST continue! 😎🇨🇦
Maybe we'll see Outback soon?
Zebrapetey Outback is on my list!
Shockwave was one of my favorite figures, I had him with Knock-Down on board the Battleforce 2000 Sky Sweeper AA tank.
Side note. Would explain why a character resembling Shockwave was called Shockblast in Transformers Energon.
One of my favourites.
Bravo!
Joe Colton's bio.
PLEASE
energicko Joe Colton is on my list!
glad you covered this legend of a SWAT officer
Awesome character for certain!
Can you do metal head next and some of the various viper types , specifically the rock and saw viper.
Yeah, specially hydrovipers, I fucking love them
Thank you for doing a video on one of my favorite characters. Although I am partial To shockwave because on from Michigan.
Snake Eyes and Beach Heads love child
You know, it’s kinda funny, my Airsoft loadout looked just like Shockwave’s first appearance, and I didn’t even know he existed. Of course it was Urban woodland camo instead of T-mout, but still.
Very good video; thank you for your hard work and effort.
Brian Rebmann Thanks Brian!

Shockwave is the coolest action figure ever.
Change my mind.
Awesome, another favorite always thought he had a good look.
You do a great job. I look forward to your videos every week. I would love to see you do a video on ranks and branches.
JohnPoloMedia Thanks John and great suggestion

I always wanted the 1989 night force Shockwave because of the stop motion movie covert operatives. He is very hard to find and very expensive.
Love it
Happy Easter !!
Damn he named himself after the evil Decepticon Transformer of the same name.
Anything but naming yourself after the greatest decepticons ever would be illogical
Ill have to track a shockwave figure down, im definitely interested.

First one to make the OBVIOUS joke about his name buys the drinks.
Great video can you please make one of 1988 gi joe Repeater
Shockwave kind of reminds me of beachhead in his look
You should make a video on Joe Colton
Great video, yet again.
Yo Joe!👍
Great video as always. Would.love to see a video Tunnel Rat or Hit and Run.
chris wright Tomorrow you’ll see Tunnel Rat!
@@JLSComics Awesome! He was one of my favorite Joe's as a kid. Thanks for doing one on him!
Damn! Never heard of this guy.... nice
YES! thank you sir! Love this guy! Thank you for making this vid, i know ive been asking for a while now lol.
And i got first like too lol
Jonathan Jones haha Thanks Jonathan! I’m glad I got to your request!
Captain Gridiron any day now lol!
I always picture Shockwave being a big fan of salene breeching. Best possible use for an IV lol
Loved the original character but aren’t all Joes technically “special weapons and tactics?”
Whatever, a SWAT police agent is definitely a must have in the Joe team staff.
Not exactly
Awesome
If I could create an urban-specific G.I. Joe team it would be comprised of Shockwave, Repeater, Leatherneck, Bulletproof, and Tunnel Rat.
Thanks
I never heard of this character, he must have come out after I left the series
Why do Cobra have all the cool stuff?
Cause Destro sales to them, and because as the antagonistic part they have to be a worthy challenge for what is sopposed to be the elite of US military force.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Shockwave meets Shockwave: Well, this is awkward.
Qardo lol
lol
Just curious did the 1988 Shockwave figure reuse any parts from the 1986 Beachead figure since they look so alike?
Shock blast sounds better
I'm surprised about this guy.
