You are so cute. I forgot how young you are compared to me. The Keds part gave me the warm fuzzies. We wore these as kids in the 80’s or the cheaper knockoffs that weren’t as comfy and you could buy them at Kmart or the equivalent to a Dollar General. We wore them for peewee cheerleading.
Congrats on 100k! Been loving your channel for years. As for your Keds, they were THE brand in the late 80s early 90s. I remember my mom wearing them every day when I was a kid. She would just wash them with a load of towels and let them air dry in the sun and they would look like new.

Oh, for slippers. I gave up on slippers because they got worn and ratty very fast. I bought a pair of cloud slides and they are so comfy. I will stick with these from now on. Joomra brand from Amazon. $24. They have a beige pair. Also, you are still one of my favorite RUclipsrs. And you are the only one I watch ads for. 💜

Was looking forward to this video, Kyra! I'm a shoe/sneaker fanatic and have quite a large collection to rotate through every year. I remember your open-toed booties and winter boots from your last apartment! Glad to see they're still working for you. Fun fact: both your Keds and New Balances are brands that were founded in the early 1900s and remain popular today, so you picked some classics! As for slippers I mostly have switched to using a pair of Crocs. I find them to be comfortable, practical, durable and best of all washable! I own two pairs and ( I know this sounds nuts) but I keep a spreadsheet tracking my shoe usage. I stopped tracking my Crocs after I had worn them 130 times and that was 2 years ago so I've probably nearly tripled the amount of use since then. Anyway, just a thought. I know they're ugly and not for everyone, lol. As always thanks for sharing!
I buy Kate Spade slippers when they come on sale. My last pair lasted 3 years. I never wear them outside only indoors. My favorite sandals are my Birkenstocks since I can replace the bottoms if I ever need to. I don’t own a pair of boots but if the weather gets rainy I will order a pair from Thursday Boots. I live in the desert and it doesn’t rain every year.
Hi Kyra, hope you are well! I love pumps like you have for work and I usually wear a foam or gel insole in the bottom for comfort as they are pretty unforgiving, with little to no support. I have a friend who gets really sweaty feet in them, so she puts a pant liner in the bottom to absorb the sweat! 😂 Possibly TMI, but might be useful to know for somebody! I’ve heard of Rothy’s before and once I seen the price I was like 🤦🏻♀️ ok not for me right now 😅. These flats take a while to break in but After that they seem fine for the price. Not sure the longevity of them but I’ve had them for a couple of months and so far they are holding up pretty good.

My sister hated them but I absolutely loved them lol. The leatherette version my mom would just wipe them off and use a whitening product 🥴🤷🏾♀️. But for my cloth Keds she would clean the soles and then wash them separately in the washing machine! She still washes my baby sisters Converse and Vans. I needed a new pair of flats because my favorite pair were a leopard print that I had purchased from Old Navy probably 5-6 years ago lol. I loved them so much because leopard is a neutral to me. I purchased a pair of faux leather flats from target and they’re Sooooo uncomfortable. I’ve been intrested in Rothy’s for a few years now but I couldn’t find many wide feet reviews. I think I’m going to give them a try! I like that they’re washable. Thanks for sharing 💜✨
I scored some clearance sales and was able to buy some hiking boots and winter boots as well as some water shoes . I have similar heels like your beige ones but in black . Looking to find some flats like yours would be perfect for a simple go to shoe since it’s easy to dress down or up. Have some Sandals 🩴 similar to your color , I should have got some keds always liked the way they looked. I found a pair of slippers at Walmart years ago and I still have them. They are very durable and comfortable and have the sole of almost a regular shoe. I don't remember the brand though.
If you're able to splurge on white sneakers in the future, I am in love with my Rothy’s! They are made of recycled materials, extremely easy to wash, and crazy comfortable!! Plus they don't have any annoying branding.
Keds are my favorite since I was so young. I am originally from Boston and I worked at an old shoe store named Bakers! I bought my first Keds there. Trying to reduce my shoe collection also. God bless

For slipper recommendation, if you don't mind a sandal, the black Vionic Bella sandal on Amazon is super cute and minimal looking! I absolutely love them, but once I broke into them, they became too wide for my feet, bummer! But since you mentioned you have wider feet, they would probably be perfect for you! They are a little on the pricey side but super comfortable!
Congrats Kyra! So happy you didn’t give up! I am very inspired by your limited shoe collection. I have been downsizing mine gradually. I have had a hard time with slippers too. The lady pair I had I did really like but then after I washed them I noticed that my feet would sweat and unfortunately with that came stinky foot odor 😕 so I have basically turned my Birkenstocks into my multi purpose shoe. It works for now. Keds are great shoes they were very popular when I was in my teens. Think I had several pairs in various colors back in the day I loved them.
You might check out Isotoner brand for slippers. I bought my dad a pair 6 years ago and he's still wearing them and you can't tell they are 6 years old. They make them for women too and you can find them at Target. I have a pair of Dluxe by Dearfoams and love them. They have a really thick sole. But full disclosure, I may only get a couple of years out of them (and I only wear them in the winter). They are also from Target and are only around $15.
Instead of cutting out the brand name, maybe they could be covered gently with a piece of fabric or ribbon. So you can take it off if you need to check the brand at a later time.

PS. I used to wear Keds when I was a kid. And I'd run around on the playground and get them super dirty EVERYDAY! My mom used to "clean" them everyday with some type of white shoe cleaning paint I guess. I have no idea what it actually was but it came in a bottle with a sponge applicator on the end. It obliterated any trace of dirt and made them perfect pearly white everytime. I'm willing to bet it's kiwi brand because they make high quality shoe care products, mostly wax for leather but I bet they have stuff for canvas sneakers too. I hope that helps Kyra.

Theyre $$ but I love the idea behind their design which is keeping the shape of your foot as natural as possible thereby extending the health of your feet. Would love to know what you think of it. Its been game changing for me as a wide footer.
I stick to L.L. Bean slippers and clogs. They last forever, 5 years + I buy the boiled wood day slippers since I wear them out to walk the dog. Not sure if wool is vegan friendly 🤔

Put on your shoes and use a dry brush to get the dirt off the cloth part! I have the same shoes!
For washing your Keds, magic erasers work great as well as spraying with peroxide and laying them outside in the sun.
