What a great video full of beautiful stitching, lots of inspiration and so much kindness shared in friendship! Hope you and Mo have a nice 4th. Our town sponsors a Children's Parade on bikes, scooters, skateboards and wagons. It's amazing to see how the vehicles are decorated, and participants are dressed. Fireworks are always on a Sunday evening over the bay. So pretty reflected in the water. 🎆

Parade

The 4th of July parade is my favorite of the year.🎉 I enjoyed seeing your WIPs and hearing how the connections worked. I am glad to see that there are cross stitch Olympics to have fun with. There is always a big Olympic challenge for knitting and spinning also. I probably won’t do spinning this year but the knitting will be fun and I can alternate with cross stitch. 😅. I haven’t been able to do much stitching due to severe migraines that have lasted for 4-5 days at a time.
It was so nice of your friend to help you commemorate your dog in a way that is so special.

I love a parade! I work over to the page break overlaps and then just work the page breaks so I can be done with needing to have all the pages out.

I love catching up on all your stitching! I am wqy behind on my floss tube watching, but you are always on3 of the first I catch up with. How you keep up wit all your SAL's and challenges amazes me 😂 I don't 7nearly as many and barely manage. The night of noise is starting, and yes, it bothers cats too. I have to go keep mine calm and feeling safe. At least there was a parade today.
I am absolutely agreeing with you and going to stitch only what I want to stitch on. It may be a different thing every time I pick up a piece. That is going to be my new motto.

Hi Laura, I have been a silent watcher from Ireland these past few months. I found your channel from seeing you on a Stitch Across the Pond zoom some months ago. I really enjoy your videos & your magazine flip through was brilliant. So many ideas, thank you. I've just finished #MFESAL2024 No Time Like The Present. You certainly kept me company every Friday while I stitched.

Thinking about your pages breaks on Ireland. I can't go back and forth on page breaks. I just tape working copies together. Sometimes I work from the huge pattern, sometimes I cut the sections out and work them that way. As always, thank you for sharing your stitchy joy!
I have a dog and cats. Luckily, they don't have issues with fireworks. I'm glad, because here in Missouri, fireworks are a big deal. They are set off for New Years, birthdays, and other holidays. For Independence Day, our celebrations start early. Like mid-June. We've been hearing fireworks nightly for 2 weeks now. In fact, just last night, I sat in my driveway and watched a firework show from the houses behind us. It's a fun but noisy time of year.
Oh those page break issues. I always worry I'm going have an extra row. I always feel more comfortable when the pattern is small enough that I can tape the pages together. Black Vintage Sampler looks awesome. NM has horribly long waits to get in to the doctors as well. Happy stitching.
Morning Laura, I cried along with you, losing a pet is so hard no matter how long, we lost Harry our kitty in 2012 and I still shed a few tears when it comes to his anniversary. Have a super fun week and if your celebrate 4th July Enjoy xx

I agree with you about stitching on what you enjoy. I recently started a Velvet Pony pattern and now only want to stitch on it so that’s what I’m doing. But, I’ll add an embroidery project in July. We’ll see how it goes. I really like finishing as it turns out.

I want to let you know that I continue to watch your videos even if I don't always comment. I really enjoy seeing each project you show and am always inspired. Yes, cats can react to fireworks. One of mine doesn't like them, and really hates thunder. The other cat doesn't care. Hugs for you.
I always enjoy these riff offs that you do with WIP Warriors. It's so interesting to hear how you connect one project to another. It's horrible how long of a wait we have to have to get appointments with doctors. It's really getting scary. When did everything get so complicated and difficult? And when did we get so old🤣🤣. For July, I have 5 starts planned. Land that I love on the 4th. But I'm also excited to start Dog's Declaration by Ink Circles, as well as 2 Christmas in July starts (The Nativity by Thomas Kinkade from HAED, and Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow). I'm also starting Les Olympiades des Gnomes by Jardin Prive for a SAL I'm hosting on the 26th for the Olympics. I plan to work on my daughters stocking, Music Room, and my Quaker USA flag, as well. July is a busy month.

I finally finished Summer At The Shore. Started Polar Night Sighting from 2023 Christmas issue of Just Crosstitch. My Ruby is a MinPin and she is absolutely terrified of the fireworks.

And cats hate fireworks too. Here in Indiana, fireworks are legal for private citizens to set off. So basically all of July we live in what sounds like a battle zone.

Another awesome video. I'm curious, how long do you work on a project and how do you decide to change to another? Do you set a timer? When I work on a project I zone in and when I come up for air, I've stitched for 6-7 hours! That piece of Shamrock is astounding...what a generous and thoughtful thing for her to do!
