I think hormonal changes will come soon & eggs will be abandoned. A tragedy yes,but their love for one another will not perish. Stay safe shadow & jackie, you r loved ❤🦅🦅
Even the high winds do not keep Jackie or Shadow away from their nest. It was so amazing to see Jackie and Shadow, both on the nest together. Thank you, Cali. ❤
This is not parenting. It's incubation and it is instinctual. Human parents are awesome. There are 8 billion of us, so we are clearly doing something right.
So cool to see both of them on the nest at the same time... It's so interesting to watch the interplay between these 2... They will make their withdrawel when they are ready, and we will all miss them when they do... I don't often turn on the sound, but I love their voices...Great video clips Cali , thank for your commitment to these 2 beautiful birds..
Thank you, Cali Condor, for the 'Day in the Life' videos each morning! Awww, When I peeked in Friday @ 07:00 Jackie was covered in snow & Shadow took over This is another huge snowstorm for them, but they are there "riders in the storm" and dedicated to each other and their eggs.....Love Them 🤗
There she goes, startling him again in the dark! Poor Shadow, probably thought he was finally going to get the night shift but not so. It looks like last year, when he was the one more concerned about the eggs during the day. Thanks for a very windy DITL video, Cali, it was great.😊
Jackie called Shadow over, but it seemed like he realized the effort was futile and left, then had a change of heart and came back, then left again, so Jackie returned. Then, she also left. They are in a dilemma, aren't they?
I'm surprised ravens haven't eaten the eggs yet. This year is a bad winter and I'm sorry for the pair of Eagles. I wish they could adopt in some orphaned eaglets. At least they will get more learning experience from this year. I hope next year will be a better year for them and they can become eagle pair parents again.
Wow I didn’t have an idea that weather could be this bad in this region. Does it look this bad because they are high up? Would it be better lower down closer to the ground? 🤔
It was a very windy day. I know a winter storm was moving in and they are supposed to get snow all day Friday. Looks like it will warm up after that. Since Big Bear is so high in elevation, it's got it's own climate. It can snow there almost every month. Look on a map and you'll see how close it is to the Mojave Desert, it's only an hour from Barstow! it's pretty crazy.
Maybe we are witnessing the effects of climate change on egg viability of eagles in this one particular area? I don’t live anywhere near California but from what I have seen on the news there has been a lot of major weather events. All the storms and such could stress them out too and I imagine stress affects their bodies just as it does ours. I love these two.
It’s actually been a normal winter. We depend on the snow in the mountains and rain in lower elevations for our water. We don’t get moisture in the summer like the Midwest. We’re part of the El Niño/La Nino ocean weather patterns. J & S are fine, they grew up here. But we were all hoping this spring would have us watching a noisy youngster.
Когда же вороны прилетят и освободят орлов от этой вахты?? Надо узнать почему нет птенцов или нет зародышей, или холодно, или болезнь? Очень жалко , такая хорошая пара!
It's so hard on parent to let eggs go, give them time to let it go! Jackie already pregnant, it take average 35 days to born eggs! So either Parent or predator will crack eggs and eat it before eggs born, soon! Let parent spend time with eggs for while, not easy on parent. I can see how much they love babies very much.. By the way Shadow and Jackie are together, that's so sweet!
I read that an egg appears 5 - 7 days after mating. They mated on April 3rd. Perhaps the crows will come to help make way for the new egg? Maybe Jackie won't lay until the nest is cleared? Maybe there will be new hope for this year? 🤞❤
@@KimCooney1 This isn't Jackie's fertile window, Just because they have mated doesn't mean she is going to lay more eggs. The mating is normal and keeps their bond strong.
@@lindaadelwerth8042 - I saw shade and Jackie already mate few days ago🤷🏼♀️, how come you didn't think she's not pregant? 🤔 Ok, I'll wait and see till Jackie born new eggs 🥚🥚🥚 ( I looked up google , I find this it's take average 35 days to born new eggs. They mate yesterday, I'll wait till May, wait and see what happen.)
@@mythoughtwhatyousay They will continue to mate to keep their bond strong throughout the year. This isn't the time for Jackie's fertile window, Meaning they will mate but there will no eggs as result of their mating. The fertile period for Jackie is over. It has been said a couple of times already.

According to a few videos back by FOBBY, the eggs died during the freeze, and the both birds being off of them for more then 5 minutes or more. No fluff in the nest with first egg, warmth from the top but not from the bottom. Jackie laid 3 eggs, 1 end of January, and then 2nd and 3rd. It seemed like by February, at least one probably made it but it wasn't to be. The eggs are deceased. So Jackie and Shadow are now kinda off and on the nest. They are mating again, and Jackie according to FOBBY, only lays her eggs in January through March. So there might not be anymore hatchling till Next year. But as for myself. one never knows if a miracle happens and she does lay eggs this fall. We all hope that it will but FOBBY knows more about these to magnificent birds than I ever will!
For many reasons that we will never know, except that all three eggs are over 60 days old. Viable eggs would have hatched weeks ago. 💔 Personally I believe that all the snowy and cold weather may have been one of those reasons.
@pumpupjam9648 according to FOBBV? They never said any of that! What are you talking about? Nobody knows why the eggs didn't hatch and there was never a video claiming that any of the eaglets died from cold exposure from the eagles leaving the eggs for 5 minutes. The biologist for FOBBV didn't say anything of the sort. She didn't say it was due to lack of "fluff" or cold or any of that. How odd. Eagles mate all year long, btw, but are only fertile for a few weeks each year. Jackie is NOT going to lay more eggs this year.
The resilience of this pair is amazing. Love them

I can’t believe how long this sweet beautiful lady is staying on those eggs … she so wanted those babies🥲🥲🥲

They are so adorable couple!! Love them!! ❤
So dedicated to each other and those eggs beautiful and heartbreaking.
This is the longest I’ve seen these two in the nest “ this long” at the same time! AWESOME! Such a Perfect Beautiful picture!!!! 📸

There’s that 1 little fluff in bottom rt corner of frame that was there tru all that snow 🙃🙃🙃👍👍✔️❤️💞❤️🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the rerun of the highlights of the day. I don't get tired of these two.~ Do they ever sleep on the nest together?
It's sad to watch them continue to sit on those eggs. Maybe they will have better luck next year. This has been an awful winter for them.
It sure has
Even the winds don’t take it away😎😎😎😎😎😎🥰🥰🥰🥰✔️✔️👍👍👊🏻👊🏻
You could see they are leaving the eggs alone for longer periods of time.
