They're indicating bends. One arrow for each half step up you need to bend the string. One arrow means bend the string up a half step so it sounds like the note one fret up. Two arrows means bend the string up a full step so it sounds like the note two frets up.
When there is a triangle inside a note that can mean either a hammer on or a pull off. The up triangle means you hammer on to that note and the down triangle means you pull off to that note. Hope that helps too
