I heard Andy sing this live in 2009 during the “Behold The Lamb Of God” tour with Andrew Peterson. Everyone on the tour first played two of their solo songs each, before playing through the “Behold The Lamb Of God” album. I forget who all was part of the tour that year, but Andy Gullahorn and Brandon Heath were two of them. Brandon Heath was the reason I went, and I am always happy I went.
Im not used to Andy making comedic type of songs but I enjoy his humor! Lol It was very creative and but different. Andy is a super talented guy on the guitar. Doesnt know if he realizes just how talented he is! someday I hope to be able to play like him! You guys might want to check out a song that he made called I will, it's beautiful, thank you so much Andy for lightening the mood! keep it coming brother!
I just had to come back to listen to this song again after hearing Scotty McCrery's new song called "five more minutes"… Whoever wrote that song was definitely following this formula. Lol
I'm a semi-die hard country music listener and I gotta say...OMG-sh that's so mean, but funny!!! But omg-sh if you think about it haha he's sorta got it down. lol except for the loving your country and the rounding country roads hahaha :D
All due respect... Some might see your comments about country music as kind of insulting, bro. I know some pretty amazing craftsmen who write fantastic country songs. It's arrogant and demeaning to mock someone's entire body of work based on the style of the art alone. If I was a song writer, I would could only hope to write something that endures time - even if it was formulaic, which is true of EVERY genre of music by the way... Kind of not cool, man. And by "kind of", I mean not cool at all.
naw fam it's awesome af and hilarious af, satire is gods gift to man. I'm glad we have people making fun of newer country music so it will improve. I'm no religious person but, amen to this song lol.
The song is lampooning people who eat up the formulaic stuff not the songwriters. I work construction so I work with guys he's making fun of. It's really a goofy tutorial for the writers.
