I've never played a game better at writing villains you hate with every fiber of your being, the awful things they say paired with this song make every boss fight so satisfying.
It helps that the Shadows tend to just be concentrated versions of the worst of the villains. They're the evil deep down, beneath all the facades and sympathies the villains have. Basically, you aren't fighting the villains themselves so much as you're fighting the evil they have inside. It's easy to hate a boss like that.
I agree. This song really hits during the Wakaba fight. The camera pans around the party and it’s a much wider shot. It just feels like the first real epic boss fight of the game and I always attach this song to that fight.

So satisfying utterly obliterating Kamoshida on merciless when you’re in new game plus. Especially with a free lvl 83 messiah. Literally didn’t even have to take his crown, he just fucking died.

I beat the boss fight in Royal FIRST TRY with 1 minute left! It was super clutch. Unfortunately, one of the waves fled, so I had to do it again. Haru ultimately didn't get any last words against her father, because she died near the end, and I didn't want to waste time reviving her.
