  • Andrew Jones joins the FS crew to explain some of the finer points of offshore big game trolling. During this FS Seminar, Andrew explains how to build your own wind-on leaders. Wind-ons can be purchased pre-assembled, but knowing how to make your own can save money and be very rewarding. With the proper tools and knowledge, you'll be ready to tackle the biggest of pelagics with the safety and strength of wind-on leaders.

Haven't seen the folding of the Spectra over and poking the needle through before quite interesting! Looks good!

Really like the long embedded tag end of the eye splice and the additional long double wall
covering of the leader line !!! Will definitely start following this method for my wind on leaders.
    Thanks...

Smooth connection between braid and mono. It’s 100% breaking strength and allows you to connect the braided line on your reel to your long monofilament leader. This connection is very sleek so it can be reeled right through the guides and into the reel. If you used a swivel instead, you’d have to stop with 100’ or more of mono out and wire fish to the boat by hand. The mono allows for stretch which absorbs shock from fish striking lures or baits at high speed or when they jump. This helps prevent break offs and pulled hooks.
