    I'm a wildlife photographer and I do the same as you did back then. I cull off my card (my camera saves to two cards at once so i do have a kinda backup in case this process fails) and then Ctrl Y to bring up the copy thing. add metadata etc keywords and then copy to a scratch folder dated and then I sync the scratch folder in lightroom and it imports the latest files in todays date folder and then i can go through the picks and choose to edit what I want and then file the image once I've finished with it. Then wipe the dated folder at a later time once I've gone through it a few more times to make sure I haven't missed anything. It works for me and it means i don't have to ingest 5000 photos when I only want to review and edit 700 or so. :) Great Tutorial. Really great info thank you

      Right on!! Like I said- this works for me and I agree I don’t need to ingest everything, just my initial cull. Happy New Year!

    Great video! I shoot Nikon, I take my photos to NX before going to Lightroom. That cut down on my time having to do color correction to zero and no more loss of pixels.
    Photomechanic is an awesome program! It just takes time to learn!

    Great video, thank you so much! I got a lot out of it. But still have one question. Does anyone know if there is an option to see not only the focal length but also the full name of the lens that was used, like RF 70-200 F2.8. I can only see the focal length in Grid View, or focal length+aperture in the right side menu if the photo is open full screen. But having 85 mm focal length on both 70-200 and 85 prime I would like to see at once what lens was used. Thanks)

      That is a very good question and hopefully someone can chime in with a solid answer (I clearly don’t have it🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️)

      29:12 - Preferences > Contact Sheets > Thumnails > Labels > adding {lenstype} as a label shows the lens used under the filename in on the thumbnail in grid view.
      For example. Filename and two labels is:
      Label 1: {mnn3} {day} {year4} {time}
      Label 2: {lenstype}
      And what it produces (example):
      [Image]
      B192381293.CR2
      EF24-70mm f/2.8 USM
      It will show the lens used under the image thumbnail, even if the lenses are different and in the same folder.
      Adding {lens35} or {lens} to the label will show the focal length used on the lens

    Is there a way when you are inputting the iptc information to have the now and next photo show so you know to copy the information to the next picture?

    They have sold out and gone subscripton now!

      I did see the press release. I think I would want a little more info like if they will have a regular release schedule and what the subscription based plan entails. A recurring investment needs to have a return ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
