lol I just watched that Nik Nocturnal video yesterday where he mentioned that. After reading the lyrics I swear he might be right. Seems some of them do kinda hint at that lol. Anytime I practice to this guy, being that his vocal style is so out of my range and the thinking of the fact that he does this amazing keyboard work too, it just irritates the hell out of me when people say this band is overrated just because they got huge. Is bring me the horizon overrated? Absolutely. Is falling in reverse overrated? Yuck. Absolutely. Sleep token, nope. They deserve every ounce of praise they're getting, their music brings out so much of my own inner sadness that I can only listen to them when I'm ready for anything emotionally and they are truly amazing. They get most of their negative commentary from metal elitists but this is not a metal band nor did they ever claim to be. Topping this album the next time around is gonna be TOUGH. What a band.
