I hope Todd makes more Batmans with cloth capes, the upcoming flash movie figures do, I assume it's so they can sit in the vehicles with having to remove a plastic cape. The Keaton figures looks pretty good and wide and jit just a strip like the spinmaster toys are "its supposed to be a cloak that fully wraps around the body . It's technically a raincoat"
I stumbled across this figure during my break at work while checking Facebook. Instantly pre-ordered! ...And then, it was cancelled. Lucked out and was able to pre-order again. Got it on day one but still haven't opened it. I really want to buy, for some reason, i feel like it will be valuable some day. I look at it every day.
I just found this figure new in box at a flea market and got it for $50. Luckily mine didn't have any QC issues and it's now one of my favorite Batman items.
Haha! Nice to see Kenner SuperPowers Batman draped in the McFarlane cape!! And evolution of this figure from 70s to present. McFarlane is best this classic homage. Jolly good 1 yr sir!
At the time, it felt wrong to dock it points because of just how spectacular looking it is, but in hindsight I feel like I should have scored it lower for sure lol
There were definitely a few moments where I might have given up on it had I not been committed to finishing the video. Ultimately, I am glad I didn't. None of the issues with the figure affect him wearing the giant cape, which is how he sits on my shelf. Still, if he looks as good without it, had a better alternate cape, and no QC issues, I might have bought a second one.
I wouldn't recommend super glue for plastic since it becomes brittle over time and the bond won't last (I used to use super glue to assemble my Warhammer miniatures, but they'd come apart after a couple of years). You're better off using proper plastic glue (it will slightly melt the plastic so the two pieces fuse together permanently).
I just got this on eBay. It’s left arm arrived broken at the bicep and I’m going to have to drill in and splice with a 1/8” drill bit and cut the shank of the bit and glue it in. I’m disappointed as the package was never opened, box had scuffs but never opened. That’s pathetic.
Happened to me. Articulation broke, used super glue and kept turning it, broke again, used super glue again so and so until I had to sacrifice the articulation. Deeply saddened me.
Ah man that sucks. So sorry you weren't able to fix it. I have seen a few people who only want to display it with the cape selling the arms and other accessories, so there is always a chance you might be able to replace just that piece at some point.
There was a re-release of the Detective Comics 1000 Batman in a blue and grey costume wasn't there? Could you swap the lower legs from that onto this figure to get the right shape of boot?

I'm reserving judgment until I get them in hand. The fabric for the Year Two was really good. If it's like that I'd be fine with more cloth capes

Considering you had literally had to glue his arm back together I'd say 2/5 is a much fairer score 😅

At the 4:50 mark, I would have just thrown the whole figure in the trash, seriously.

That neck gap is inexcusably bad. Damn shame considering the figure is based on one of the coolest Batman panels ever.
