In 1969 Anaheim still had a lot of open space, especially in the areas near Knotts and down Beach Blvd east. There were still some orange groves and a lot of fruit farms raising strawberries and the likes. Of course, by the 1970s they were all gone as Anaheim built up to max capacity.

Is there a plaque for the oldest orange-producing grove in Anaheim? It would be cool to have one built to inform the townspeople of the history of this area instead of just blowing on by it in their cars.

The Orange County Spanish American War Memorial in Irvine Park is actually older than the statue in Pearson Park.

I'm a current Loara student and Anaheim resident, and i know i'm still young, but Anaheim seemed so peaceful and nice back then... Now most of it is tagged, our school Loara has gone down hill, and the from of the school and gym constantly gets tagged... Very sad
