ANYWAY, let me know what yout thought about it, the choice of artists etc... if this format is successfull, a Part. II will come soon, and I'll try to explore new "subgenres" of Dungeon Synth. Same. I love symph BM and always enjoyed the synthy interludes, intros, outros and backing melodies and harmonics. So I always wanted to listen to music just of that synth and this genre exists! I actually suspect it spawned from symph BM where people felt like I did. Could be wrong tho, but the covers, the production, the atmosphere are all BM like.
@@berserker8884 My friend, you stole those words right out of my mouth. Some of those said symph BM tracks just had some overpowering synth moments that I wish lasted forever, and dungeon synth is the closest I'll get to that. I'm just really glad this genre exists to fulfill that for me
Was playing witcher 3 and felt the original soundtrack lacking the right mood- turned down the music, put this mix in the background and just in time got to the part of Skellige missions- giants, hyms, mountains, trolls and all that..truly wonderful and totally different experience- things got actually scarier, more creepy and less cliche and fake epic and there were some accidental song changes just at the right moments..really recommend to all to do that, thank you!!

This is truly a very deep kind of some "classical or new age music" of our times! therefore most of these musical artists do really deserve a very special place in the writen musical history of our times! however, as someone has already said in this channel: this music is so underground that even these musical artists themselves must really have a hard time whenever they're just trying to find out about where and when their own music is being sold somewhere in world! now let alone getting at least a little bit of money for at least a little part of their own music! but hopefully this very sad and even very painful situation will change sometime and somewhere in the future world! as everyday more and more people in the world are just getting to know them better! and even getting to know more about this special kind of music! and about these very highly talented musical artists! 👍

Some of the best dungeon synth has come out in the last 5 years. Releases from Old Tower, Thangorodrim, and Old Sorcery are all well worth checking out.

Dungeon synth was supposed to be atmosphere for dungeons, caves, prisons, but 95% of the albums I'm searching are upper atmospheres, nothing to do with underground, some even have lyrics. The few ones who gets it are probably Depressive Silence and Secret Starways.
I would list up - Murgrind - there but yes it's a bit of diffrent strain and also arriving later on the scene then most of what you put up in this first edition. I really like, from the new stuff and have resently enjoyed; Oblivion - with the album Awakening, and; Darken Wood - both releases I & II.

Well you have symphonic black metal in case you didnt know. Albums like Goat Horns, Witchcraft, Aspera Hiems Symfonia, Hunger of Elements, etc have this feel.
