I haven't purchased this book yet, but I'm looking forward to getting a copy. I love the Polychromos pencils, so will definitely be rewatching this video so I can colour along at a later date. I think Fragile World is absolutely beautiful but the theme of Kerby's new book doesn't interest me.

I love those sunset colours you have used. You always do beautiful sunsets, Lucy. I have not bought the latest Kirby book. I have a sneaky suspicion my son is getting it for my 60th birthday in May. I think his latest work is so very different. I am sure I will enjoy the challenge of colouring his new images. As for Mel's new book, I love her new book. I am already colouring my second page. So far, I have cooured the image of the Dolphin in the sea in the woven basket and now I am on the page with the desert scene in the a moon with the flowering cactuses. Holbeins and prismas are working well on this paper so far.

Hi Lucy. I love your videos and learn so much from them. The longer videos do challenge me with the attention span of a goldfish I have to keep stopping them and coming back to watch a bit more later. I bet that plays with the yt algorithms. Lol. Thar background is outstanding!! I have seen flip throughs of Kerby's Alien Worlds, and I am stunned by the work he has done before his break. I really am looking forward to looking through that book when I get it. Comes out 31 of March in the USA, I know there are a few pages I will want to color. Not yet, but I will get there.

I just love how this page turned out!!! You did such an amazing job, as always! I live in the U.S. so I haven't received my book yet, but I did pre-order it and Amazon says it will arrive by April 6th! I'm so excited and I'm going to do this page as soon as I get it! I don't have the polychromos YET, but I am saving up and I will be getting the set soon! Seeing you color this page with the polychromos just makes me want them that much more! Thank you for sharing another page of your gorgeous coloring with us! I just got back into coloring not too long ago from a long slump and it's because I came across your channel and you inspired me so much that I started coloring again, and I can't thank you enough! Hi Lucy! I got this book today and everyone is saying that the paper is thinner than the other books of her. That’s true, but i love to hear that the Poly’s are doing great on this paper! You make me almost wet my pants when you threw the book in my face, LOL!!!🤣😂😂🤣. The page came out outstandingly beautifull Lucy!!!

I absolutely adore your color alongs! Your format is by far the easiest to follow - I can see the colors, I can watch what you're doing and the way you explain everything just makes it all crystallize. I've come so far in my coloring journey since I started watching these so THANK YOU very much for doing them! (I don't mind the length at all either). As for new Kerby book, it's not for me. I think he has amazing talent but I just wasn't inspired by the images and the change in paper quality was a letdown. Just my 2 cents' worth!

Hi I just picked up this book today, so I'm so pleased to follow along. I did pick up kerbys book and after a quick flip through didn't buy it. I found the work a little hapdash and overly busy just my opinion. I may go back and buy the book once I see other people using it. It may give me inspiration.

So just finished this page along with you, loved you confidence to change it up as you went along. I took your lead and ended up stickling the decorative cut put parts of spine too. I didn't know colouring was so fun when you add in different textures, thank you x
And I went ahead and bought the new kirby book yesterday on another flip through I could imagine the colours that could be used. Just need some inspiration now

I kind of like it. But it is a departure from his earlier work. Some of the visits to different locations were a real turn-off but in others I could visualize how I might attempt.

Hi Lucy great colouralong . I am terrified to colour in any of kerbys books and that is with normal colours so to attempt to colour a page in the new book fills me with abject fear as I couldn't begin to get a pallette together. But I do like the book ❤xx

I don't care for the new Kerby book. I'm just not into aliens and that type of stuff, but I think it's cool for those who like that kind of stuff! It's just not my style, but the art work is very well done!

My pages never make it out the other side of the scruffy stage
I know that this is a very late addition to any comment I made however, the best color I have found for saguaro cactus 🌵 is the Derwent chromaflow cactus color, in springtime at the top of the arms you will find the most beautiful pink or yellow blossom that you've ever seen. It's actually quite accurate and I live in Phoenix Arizona which is the only place in the world you can find these things. They are only in the Sonoran desert and the majority of that is in Arizona. The colors you chose are beautiful and well done I just thought I'd give you the hint that there is a pencil that is perfect for it. As far as shadows if you want them to look natural use the opposite color on the color wheel and you will get a very natural looking shadow. Except for blue it is the exception, when you want shadow on blue use black. Go with an extremely light hand and then blend them but it is the only color that creates a natural shadow for blue.

Okay I am a Kerby person, I have every book of his from mythomorphia on. And although the flip through that I saw of alien world is not my taste in books I still have to have it to complete my collection. I'll have a better form opinion when I can look at it up close and personally. So although I'm not sure that I will ever color in it although I probably will at least one page just so that I keep this I've colored in every book thing going, I think it's just an addition to my collection.

Loved this page! So pretty! I personally might be one of the few people whose not a fan of Kerby’s new book. It’s just not my cup of tea! But I know there is a lot of people who likes it and has already been coloring in it. I just won’t be one of those people!

Lucy as beautiful as our sunrises are in the Sonoran desert, sunsets are much more colorful and pretty. Please look up images of sunsets in Sedona Arizona. I live in Phoenix Arizona and we get a good portion of those beautiful colorful sunsets but Sedona is said to have the most beautiful sunsets in the world.

I’ve “seen” the new Kerby book, but won’t receive my physical copy until 28 March. I wanted to be more excited about Alien Worlds, but after seeing a flip-through I personally felt it was lackluster, looked rushed to meet a deadline, and I felt some illustrations were tweaked to fit the alien theme but were repeat ideas from other books. Will I keep it and color it? Yes. Do I wish it were more original? A resounding yes.

Yes the paper doesn't take wet mediums at all without warping the page ....considering I got grease on my sleeve and of course my sloppy self tried acrylic paint to cover it up!😂

Eventually you can also write the Polychromos numbers, not only the name , because it would be very helpful for your german fans . All my colorcharts had the german names of color. But with reading the number also we would find the right pencil easy.
