Bitcoin self custody is dangerous - the reality is that even incredibly experienced Bitcoiners can lose their entire stack with overly complex self custody solutions. Does this mean you should never self custody? Of course not. But you should be aware of all the risks that come with self custody in the same way you should be aware of the risks of custodial exchanges like Binance, FTX and Mt Gox.
