Spain really has a lot to be proud of in so many artistic areas but its music is a whole other level of greatness! It has been a joy and a pleasure learning more about your culture and all the incredible music and history it has to offer!
Btw, the flutist is the great Jorge Pardo, he is considered the best jazz flutist/saxophonist in Europe, also awarded with grammis awards...it goes without saying that Paco is the best guitarist in history and one of the best musicians/ composers of his time. Greetings.
Wow man, this is really a good one! When "Solo quiero caminar" LP came out it was another revolution brought by Paco to Flamenco´s world. For the first time some of the tunes had this jazzy feeling with the flute(Jorge Pardo),electric bass (Carles Benavent) and percussion(Rubem Dantas),the same musicians we see on this video, plus the vocals by Paco´s brother Pepe de Lucia. In this live version Pepe adds to the lyrics of the song some verses of popular songs by Camaron de la Isla,Remedios Amaya, and even by the singer from the early 20eth century La Niña de los Peines (which is like a blues singer today including in a song some verse by Bessie Smith or Robert Johnson)
I really love the Flutes place in Flamenco and the way it is utilized! We seldom get that kind of guitar flute play over hear aside from some older rock bands like Heart and Jethro Tull but this is a whole other level of incredible! That is so awesome to see him play with his brother! The singing had so much power and gusto and really adds a whole other level of heart to the piece!
@@TheKillogicEffect Paco and his brother Pepe started performing and recording together since Paco was 11 years old and Pepe about 13! (you can check for this early music they did under the name of Chiquitos de Algeciras) Awesome performances!!! Paco left school as a 8 years old child and his father keep him practising guitar because they were so poor and being a professional was the only way his father knew to help to bring some money to the household.A famous flamenco dancer took Pepe to sing in his shows in his USA tour when he was 16 or so.He didn´t need a guitarist so he wouldn´t take Paco. But Pepe would complain and insisted and finally a teenage Paco flew to the States on his own to join the company.Imagine how that could be for a poor Spanish boy who never had left home and all he had seen was the poor Spain of those years.
What a great performance! there are no words to explain what Paco makes you feel, he was absolutely incredible, in this occasion with his brother singing next to him is more exciting! Pure passion for music! It's magic! I'd recommend you to know an artist like Antonio Rey "Sin Fronteras", he's so talented too. Thanks for you amazing love for all kind of music, I like your reacts so much!
Thank you very much I really appreciate it! Paco and by extension Flamenco has been one my favorite things I have discovered on this musical journey! Paco never ceases to amaze and never fails to put a smile on my face! I really enjoy hearing and learning more about it and him! I think I may have that very song in the Flamenco playlist but I know I have Antonio Rey and if that isnt the song in the playlist it will be soon! Thank you for the support and suggestion it is much appreciated!
Thanks for this! Brings me back in the 80´s when I saw Paco de Lucia, Al di Meola and John McLaughlin live together. Second best to Led Zeppelin in their last tour in Frankfurth 1980...
That must have been so amazing! I wish I would have had the chance to see him and company but I am glad there is so much of him that is preserved to inspire countless generations to come!
I love Jethro Tull. To me, Mr. Anderson is the greatest showman of all time. All his stage antics are perfect. He is absolutely perfect. To me he is constantly in the spotlight. It is truly extraordinary. Unique and unrepeatable.
Yeah I have always been a big fan of his! If you havent already I would check out Jethro Tull's latest album RokFlute it is very reminiscent of their older stuff...
There was just a tribute concert to Paco in Sevilla. Seven top guitarists including the great Tomatito played in honour of Paco. At the end they stood with their hands raised in tribute towards a giant screen image of Paco.
@@TheKillogicEffect Tomatito himself is one of the greatest guitarists to have ever lived. He had his head bowed before Paco's image. The copy said something like "to honour Paco and his unattainable artistry".

Hello my friend id like to share to you the joy of listening to one of pacos other pieces. This has been an awesome journey and STILL im discovering pieces I’ve never heard before. It is paco de lucia Doblan Companas HD on youtube. Enjoy ❤🎉
Es verdad que Jethro Tull tiene un sonido parecido gracias a la virtuosidad de los flautistas, salvando las distancias. Me hubiera gustado ver alguna vez s Paco de Lucia en directo pero no tuve ocasión
I'm glad to have gotten a chance to see Jethro Tull live but I too wish I had a chance to see him live in person! That why its so great that we have so much of his career preserved so he can go on to inspire countless generations to come!!!
I was listening before you mentioned Jethro Tull and thinking about similarities with prog rock (especially, Yes, ELP, and JT). So many layers of music.
I look forward to checking that out! I love watching the way this genre really utilizes the whole body as an instrument! I wish there was more of that in the states! Hopefully someday....
Sorry to hear family and friends were impacted by Helene. Hope all are able to recover soon. Wonderful reaction to this piece by Paco and his group. Thank you. There is also a version of he john mclaughlin and al di meola playing an instrumental version of this. Great stuff! Thanks for these reactions

Thank you for the link I saw one that was similar to that one but sounded like crap but this one sounds awesome I look forward to adding it to the Paco and Flamenco playlists!
