You're amazing Madame...your tutorial method is very much clear and simple to follow, all your tutorials here jn RUclips were all very useful and helpful to us who hasn't any proper education or formal lesson in piano wherein trying our best to learn thru chords formation...l love music very much and playing piano while singing give so much joy, inspiration and encouragement to myself to learn more thru your uploaded tutorials..thank you so much, God Bless you always...
You have the most beautiful hands - a great asset to someone who is such a wonderful musician and teacher!! Thank you Marine. Don't forget to do this sort of tutorial for Elton's Yellow Brick Road , Warm wishes, Joan. xx 🌹
I grew up learning "arranger keyboard" music, only playing the chord with the left hand. Now I want to learn piano music and I find it hard to get my head round. In Step 4, things became clear. Especially the part about keeping the melody note as the top note and playing the chord below it.
Your teaching method really brings songs to life and playing the piano so much fun! Unlike what you recommended at the beginning of the video, I don't plan which of the two (1st or 2nd) chord inversions I'm going to play for each chord. I prefer to be spontaneous with this depending upon finger positioning at different points in the song.
Thank you for teaching us not just the chords, but how to build the song. I know what chords are and how to build them, but my playing needs some rhythm and oomph and different voicing. You fill this gap very well, very grateful!! I’ve purchased some of your lessons.
Hello from France, just 2 words: MERCI and BRAVO for this wonderful video that gives me the keys to open a new and fresh style of playing. You are a light in the dark to show us the way ! Thank you for the free sheet music.
I loved this video! I’m a jazz piano player, but I’ve been wanting to learn to play pop and rock too lately. Love to see you makes more videos just like this with a variety of pop and rock songs with other left hand ideas. I’d love to learn all this different possibilities of left hand patterns as well as different rhythms that can be used.
Same as what everyone else has said. I have been watching tutorials and self learning for a few years and had a lot of questions built up that you address here and then some! I love your teaching style and the way you think about breaking down how to learn and play. Perfect for me!!! Thank you so much!!! PS you have gotten my first ever comment on RUclips after all these years, but had to share with you how awesome your style is!
Thank you so much. So glad I found you. There are a lot of people doing this kind of thing out there on-line but not many are able to explain and simplify as you do. I love your teaching style and how you actually show what you are doing and how to achieve this. So annoyed that it's taken me a lifetime to or what seems like a lifetime to find your channel. Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks to make your lessons so understandable ! I discovered your tutorials last week and I feel really lucky for t hat. I am flying across all your videos and I will built a structured roadmap for the next months and see my evolution. Keep also this amazing smile and energy...it is also inspiring !
Thanks so much for this video. I've been looking for tutorials on RUclips to teach me how to solo songs just like this and this one is the best I've encountered. You've definitely won my subscription 😊
Thank you. Your tutorials are indeed very useful and your delivery is excellent. I am an old veteran and have taken to piano learning at this stage of my life. Will be a pleasure learning from your tutorials. A little help please. I could not download the pdf of your lessons. Would you be kind to help me obtain this please. Thanks and many regards
Wow! Thank you so much for doing this video! I really needed this lesson and you are really great at breaking it down and explaining things! I loved it so much, I subscribed to your channel. Good luck on continuing to build your channel. You definitely deserve it with all your hard work.
Thank you 🙏 so much , this was so helpful!!! Love the way that you explain things. Learned a ton about rhythm and adding melody. And the cord below the melody made so much sense to me. Thank you for that. I love the sus chords too !!!
Bravo Marine,,, Il y a plusieurs vidéos traitant ce sujet, mais honnetement, ta façon d’expliquer étape par étape, démystifie un sujet qui dans le fond, n’est pas si compliqué. Merci pour ton travail…
Great lesson, but I have trouble with STEP 5. You added C2sus, Gm, etc...I have no idea how you did it. The song arregement is beautiful but how do I know what chord to play? I'm used to read each note from the sheet music. I'm not creative on the piano 😃. And i know just a little, very little about harmony😒. Is this version in the key of F (major) ? Anyway, thank you so much for your lessons. They are great.
One of my fav parts playing keyboard is finding the melodies by ear, but I am still strugling with the measure, keeping up with he tempo, even sometimes going blind how many beats the lyrics are , how long should I rest before the next part, including the chord changes, hopefully you'll cover that in another video 😅
Hey! When you wanna learn by ear you really need to know the song well so you know how the rhythm goes! You should try a mix of lead sheet and by ear. This way you have a guideline for the tempo and you can have fun with the melody!
Hello gorgeous piano teacher, I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial. My question to you: What is the missing ingredient to be able to add the melody to any song? I just can't hack that part.
I just thought of a nice part 2 to this video (if your interested). A different left hand choice for the bridge. For example, a nice walk up from F chord to the B flat and then a walk Down from B flat to F as your key signature suggests! Just an idea!
So for someone thats looking to just play piano and sing along, where would you stop in the above process/steps? I've noticed that the melodies are generally playedonly dduring intro but for verse/chorus sections they just stick to chords only.
@@OnlineRockLessons How about a faster paced song like Hard days night, I want to hold your had, she loves you or since I saw her standing there? Id be really interested to see what kind of base pattern you would use for faster songs to give it more rhythm. And do you sometimes use 2 note cords instead of triads for melodies? Thanks.
@@OnlineRockLessons ok, but it will be interesting if you explain how to come with the chords once you have the melody. It happens that you can have a melody but dont know how to create the chords. thanks il ove your videos and pdfs.
I have been watching piano tutorials and learning for 2 years and your video is the first time the light bulb switched on. Thank you so much.
I’m so glad to hear that! 🙌

The title is misleading. She ads a melody to chords she already had.
I’m harmonizing the melody with the chords of the song!
