You are correct the locos in unstoppable are CP locos. And they are actually still in service! There was 2 of each made stunt doubles I’d bet. And something that bugged me is 777 didn’t have its iconic black and yellow plow but I love you added them! excellent haul too!
On a diesel they are pilots, cow catchers are steam. These are great, and your additions really improved them. Now if you can find the hero locomotive to go with them.
I wish Canadian Pacific had left them as is, it would have been interesting to see them running around. I'm sure the numbers would have to be changed legally though.
@@SMTMainline where i learned that story is from a RUclipsr called high iron and all of his videos are about history and why of trains. Also my dad finshed high school in 2001.
What makes that movie even better other than it being based on a true story. Only one part at the end was CGI the rest of the movie was all practical. Done with real trains.
Liked that you painted the cow catchers yellow and black stripes. So good detail. Also liked that the seller put cardboard in front of the handlebars, so they don't break off during shipping.
That’s amazing looking. I’m been trying to find some myself, possibly my favorite train movie ever. Now we need a “movie scene” kinda like what you did with the runaway snow train. Love the vid great find 👌
That film was made only about 60 miles from my house. Filmed on the Ex Conrail Nittany and Bald Eagle Rail Road. Norfolk Southern still uses it occasionally with coal drags or detours. It still has the old Pennsylvania Railroad Signals in operation.
@SMT Mainline no but it was featured in RailPace Magazine. Bellfonte PA was one location. The tracks are welded rain so they could go track speed which I think is 50mph.
I love the film ,it’s shows how different you run railways in the US compared to us in the U.K. myself a retired train dispatcher working at Clapham junction ,great models, and Connie she’s a honey .😊
I'm one of the few people who wasn't too impressed with the movie, but the engines look great with the addition of new plows on the locos. If you get a chance, there are some detail parts on the trucks (such as the brake cylinders) and the air tanks off of the fuel tanks which are missing (know from having the models) to complete the models. Also, I liked how the seller protected the handrails of the locos during shipment. It's nice to see that they were not all bent up from shipping.
@@SMTMainline Here's a paint protip should you feel inclined to re-do the stripes: Before painting the yellow, spray the plows with black first. This will seal the masking tape's edges and prevent the lighter color from getting under the edge, making for a sharp color separation. Love the train set😍😍😍 !! I love that you found the two diesel engines from the movie Unstoppable😊😊😍😍🤩🤩👍👍👍! That movie is a true story and it really happened in real life!! Love the colors on the 777 locomotive and great job on painting the cow catcher for the diesel engine and put it on both locomotives!!

They need people to want to watch the movie. Pearl Harbor was ripped apart by history and aviation experts for a new level of inaccuracy and yet that movie was a big box office success. The average cinema joe want to see those action scenes - it's why the Marvel movies make billions in profit.
You got it right on every point. The TRUE story, which was well reported at the time, was relatively boring compared to the film. However, a town WAS in danger of being ground zero of an enormous environmental catastrophe IF the train had not been stopped.
Very nice with those 2 train from the movie. I do remember you have 4 trains from runaway train. That is really great trains you got. I do have it on Trainz version.

Great video SMT. 777 and 767 looks amazing, and the snow plow look great on the locomotives. 1206 would like amazing with 777 & 767. Great video and can't wait for the next one.
Fantastic, a bit jealous 😂 I have always wished some company would of put theses out for us to buy, but they probably didn't want to pay the royalties. Who ever painted those did a fantastic job they look great, congrats on getting these for you collection

Well they did Hollywood up the story but the events in the movie were based on what really happened, yes they have to add some hi fantasy elements to keep an audience intrigued. All in all they did capture the tense situation of the runaway event. Great build here!
Whatup, all you need to do is add ditch lights and those AVR locos will be fabulous. It'll be nice if Athearn or ScaleTrains can make them if Denzel Washington approves it LOL. I love how you made the train looked like a runaway. Your train layout is dope👍👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 and a brotha (with long dreadlocks) is loving it fam. I got a massive HO empire (200+ locos DC and DCC and nearly 2,000 freight cars, buildings from various manufacturers) but got a lot of work to do building it. You'll also need a couple of SD40-2s to be the lash up units that derailed ahead of 777 and 767 in the movie. First the locomotives from "runway train" and now these!
Also you might want to take it slow around the curves when pulling tankers!
Yep, better apply some hand breaks to help slow down the train.
