This is a bad take. You can very quickly test out what colors look good together on a scrap sheet of paper. You can also very quickly make a sketch of your map in pencil with very little detail to figure out the layout and composition. And anything worth doing takes a little bit of patience. That has nothing to do with skill. I really believe that anyone can do this and that's been proven out by the dozens, maybe even hundreds at this point, of people who have shared their first time maps with me.

But, I am someone who has a bad head for colors/color theory, can't afford copic markers, and haven't been able to get a grip on any art fundamentals. Idk why I'm stupid, but personally yeah it seems like you DO have lots of experience and materials to create good maps. Not everyone does.
Your videos have been helping me a lot. I'm working on a fantasy novel but I hit a wall. So, I'm working on creating my world map to help hash out places in my realm. This way I can have a visual of where I want my characters to go. Plus...I play D&D, so it'll also assist with a one shot with my DM 👍👍
I found you yesterday while looking into learning how to draw maps for my son's RPG sessions / games. Hopefully I can pull it off, you do such an amazing job, even when you're scribbling ahaha! Thanks a million!
