I have seen 10 Raymond Chandler movies. Favourites are Double Indemnity, the original The Big Sleep, Strangers on a Train, Murder My Sweet, The Blue Dahlia and Lady in the Lake. I have also seen The Big Sleep starring Mitchum, The Falcon Takes Over, Marlowe, Farewell My Lovely starring Mitchum, Marlowe, and The Long Goodbye. By the way, Chandler appears as an extra in Double Indemnity. You can see him sitting in a chair in the hall as MacMurray walks past.
Favourite posters and stills are the portrait with his cat, from Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep starring Bogart, Strangers on a Train, Murder My Sweet, The Long Goodbye, The Blue Dahlia, Marlowe, The Lady in the Lake, and The Big Sleep starring Mitchum

Hi Flora, not bad your tally 11 (not 10) out of 17. I've seen 10. I've seen all the ones you've seen except The Falcon Takes Over. You've also listed 'Marlowe' twice. Thanks for the Double Indemnity trivia, next time I watch it I'll try to spot him, if I haven't forgotten by then. Thanks for commenting, always appreciated. Happy you liked the posters and stills. Two more videos next week.

Good top 17. I'm kinda proud of myself guessing top 3 in the exact order, which is not so hard if you're familiar with the Chandlers' film adaptations.
Here's some favorites quotes from various Chandlers' works:
"I like smooth shiny girls, hardboiled and loaded with sin" (Farewell, My Lovely). Not included in the 1944 film adaptation for obvious reasons, despite that description perfectly captures the allure of Helen Grayle.
"The girl slept on, motionless, in that curled-up looseness achieved by some women and all cats" (I'll Be Waiting)
"There is no bad whiskey. There are only some whiskeys that aren't as good as others"
"Realism takes too much talent, too much knowledge, too much awareness" (The Simple Art of Murder)
"In everything that can be called art there is a quality of redemption" (The Simple Art of Murder)
"Dead men are heavier than broken hearts" (The Big Sleep; and also the inscription on the mutual tombstone of Raymond & Cissy Chandler)

Great quotes. Thanks! Here's one of my favorites from the movie Murder My Sweet - "Okay Marlowe,' I said to myself. 'You're a tough guy. You've been sapped twice, choked, beaten silly with a gun, shot in the arm until you're crazy as a couple of waltzing mice. Now let's see you do something really tough - like putting your pants on.'"

@@Top10Charts3978 That's one of my favorites, too. There are countless humorous pieces all over Chandlers' works, some of them transplanted to the screen.
