    Great review as always! I use Arccos, so didn’t go with this system. I had a previous iteration of this over a decade ago (Game Golf I think?). where you had to tap the club onto the sensor…I did like that as part of my routine. But, the Arccos are seamless…no need to remember to tap it. As for the sensors, I like the Shot Scope sensors over the Arccos ones…much smaller and probably lighter. The Arccos ones are about 9 grams, which can affect your swing weight if you’re into that stuff. As for your Ping clubs, you can take out the sensor in the grips of your ping clubs with the built in Arccos sensors…they are pretty easy to take out, and then you can screw the sensor in (the little hole is just below where the sensor goes in…All that, I think this type of laser is much more useful, especially for amateurs, where it gives you distances to the front-middle-back of the green. Bushnell doesn’t do that…they used to sell a hybrid model, but not anymore. Not sure why…Amateurs should be playing more towards the back of greens instead of at the pins…I’m currently testing the Voice Caddie SL2 with that tech built in…love it so far.

    Thanks Sophie, I've just got the H4 as I didn't want to wear a watch. I love the stats in golf so look forward to improving my game once used.

    I have been running Golfpad with a galaxy watch, and my android phone now for 3 years, tags can be a pain in the ass, they can often not register good luck in a 4 ball tournament stopping play to fidget a gadget. But you also simply log the shot to the phone or watch too during a round.
    Once you get a system going you are as quick without tags as with tags or simply log On tee boxes and greens the watch on greens also, fairway, tags £60, app £20/year. I keep a cheap flag locking rangefinder too if a phone battery goes, or time to judge a flag accuracy. It is away quicker arriving to the ball knowing front , middle and back of green.

    Great video Sophie, how would you rate the gps unit compared to the watch? I use the v3 watch and it misses its fair share of shots

    I use the V3 watch and have Ping Driver and woods. I cut the thread off the tag and super glued on top of the Arcos sensor. Still attached after a year of playing in all conditions.

      You can actually remove the sensor from the Arccos grips…just use a small screwdriver and pry them out…and the little hole is just beneath and you can screw in the sensor…

    As others have said the watch is better. The watch automatically senses the club when put into your left hand

  • @Br3ndo1891

    Used it incorrectly straight away on the first hole. You tag your putter once then you press the pin collect at the hole and select how many putts you had. You made it look like a really average product because you don't know what you're doing. Realistically you'd never keep the GPS on the range finder other than for storage.

    • @Br3ndo1891
      @Br3ndo1891 Год назад

      The pin collect feature nullified your point at the end about going in and adding putt distances as that's the whole point.

    I have the original Shot scope LX and after an initial issue with the crosshairs being out of wack, (which shot scope replaced quickly) I have had no issues with it. It's been a great addition to the bag and I reckon has shaved some strokes off my score. It's a little slower than a Bushnell, but only marginally. For the price, it's excellent value

    I much prefer the voice caddie anytime especially as it reduces the distraction and wasting time factor. As I play very fast I hate anything that adds to slow play. The garmin watch also works well too. And the former is so much more cost effective

      The Shot Scope H4 GPS in the video is only $129 US and there are NO subscription fees. That is an incredible value in my opinion. Basically, you get all the analysis free for lifetime.

  • @loumitchells73

    i am using the v3 watch. I think it is much easier during the round and in combination with a proper range finder this is the perfect fit. Wearing the H4 on the belt and getting all the information, you always have to take it off the belt.

      @@guyr7351 I'm torn between the V3 and H1. I like the watch, but many complain it misses shots. Does your V3 miss many shots during your round?

    • @guyr7351
      @guyr7351 Год назад

      @@shawnandrews329 yes, occasionally, more so if you duff a shot and hit close to where you were, but it is easily edited on the software. Having the data tags means you build up real data on longest, average and playing average ( where short / long shots discarded).
      It’s not so good on showing hazards etc and no pic of the hole layout like the Garmin.
      With winter I am not doing as much lost game analysis, just check length of drives etc

  • @adriancox-thesantjordigolf3646

    If you already got a Bushnel, can you just use the module and the club tags without the laser?

    • @shawnandrews329
      @shawnandrews329 Год назад

      Yes. You can buy the H4 or the V3 watch separately. The H4 is around $129 US and the V3 watch is about $25 more, but I've seen it on sale for the same price. Both come with the tags and Shotscope doesn't charge a subscription fee so your purchase is your cost for life. I plan to buy a different rangefinder as I don't see any value putting the H4 on the Shotscope rangefinder.. I'm getting the Precision Pro NX10 rangefinder.

    $349 is kind of Steep for what you can pick up a Range Finder for.. I am sure it has a lot of bells and whistles but you can pick up a very good Range Finder for $150.00.

      You can buy the H4 or V3 watch separately and can buy any rangefinder or none at all. About $129 US for the H4. Shotscope doesn't charge a subscription fee for all that analysis data. Your set for life with no additional charges.

    Slow play is becoming a big issue, so we certainly don’t need products like this to make the problem worse.

    • @Br3ndo1891

      If it's used correctly there's no issues with slow play.

    • @shawnandrews329
      @shawnandrews329 Год назад

      It doesn't slowdown play. It should actually speed it up because you should be getting all the shot data while your playing partners are playing their shot. When it's your turn, you should be ready to hit, not just getting the data. It's no different than when you see your playing partner watching other players hit shots and then when it's their turn, they're just starting their routine of getting the yardage (without any tech), etc. Also, less strokes == faster play. It's all about an efficient routine with or without technology.

      I’d think it decreases time, as other than walking back because you forgot to tag, you would always have distance. Don’t have to look around for markers.

  • @jonathanbarr5823

    It's great if you are obsessed with stat tracking. The problem is, you become dependent on it, and the spirit of playing golf organically gets lost in the tech.
