Those are 1959 base model hubcaps and the pieces at 22:30 are door handle guards. They are suppose to protect the paint from rings on your fingers. It was an extra option.
@@RhinosRestomods Glad to help, You are very lucky to find such a gem. I have been a huge Chevy/GM fan all my life and have owned and worked on many of those old Chevys. Very cool and awesome car. Hope everything goes well for you.
the good thing about clean out is you only have to do it once. thank goodness for vaccums. for having the car apart there seems to be a lot of hard parts to find. for sure to check the door and front fender stainless moldings. not by the number of them but make sure the hump along the edge is on the top and bottom as it should be and for the place it goes to see if you have all of them. you could have two of one peice and would have to put one on upside down. very easy to have happen. make sure you have all the top peices and the bottom peices for Belair. also watch for the end of the stainles strip to see if the angle which is a double angle fits the door opening at the front of the door. so peice will work with opening the door. the peice that you thought was the rear door handle molding looked more that it could be the base for the antenna i thought. i think that peice is Nomad only. the short flat six inch long peices near the window cranks on the table. i think are the finger nail and rings gaurd that go behing the door handles. to protect from scratches. also for the Nomad only i think. looks like you have two passenger side door handle gaurds one drivers side, door handle guards and good find EZ1 on the cowl tag must be tinted windows all. Probally just the EZ could be tinted windsheild only. on a side note. we had a 72 Monte Carlo white with black vynil top which we sold to the kids. and the kids also have a 66 Caprice with counsol gauges, 396 and three speed column shift factory. we have 66 Caprice with counsol gauges 402 replacement with TH400, so in your travels hope to see more of the Monte Carlo and Impala as time goes on. well this is a start of a new car story. im in .
You got a really nice shop Randy. Once you get the new floor in thst thing, it will change your whole perspective. Bet Don can ID everything on that table 😆
I enjoyed the video Randy. The stainless in the rear cargo area is factory. They had several more pieces that would complete the entire floor including the spare tire cover. If you flip that arm over on the back seat it'll hold the seat up off the floor. Later Buddy
Thanks Don. The pieces in the cargo area on the sides is factory? The aluminum strips that are about 2” wide that I talked about being riveted down? It’s actually holding the board down. I just want to make sure. Thanks again my friend!
@RhinosRestomods Yup the line strips down both sides of the rear wheel wells is Factory original cargo stainless. There is several more pieces that finish the entire rear cargo floor. Later Buddy
Great video Randy! Great to see the awesome Pole Barn, Rocky and the Impala too! I love "fresh from the barn" archeological digs because that's what you just did! Sometimes you find some really amazing stuff! At the very least you get it cleaned out and inventoried of what you have and what you need. Glad to see you use all the safety gear because I'd hate to see you breath in the hantavirus from all the mouse droppings! 😂 Looks like you found some good parts too! Those '60-'62 Corvette hub caps should fetch a nice price on ebay or marketplace! The steering wheel is cool too! I restored a similar one in one of my shorts that might help you with yours unless you want to order a new similar replacement flake wheel from MoonEyes in Santa Fe Springs, Ca. Glad you found the door garnishes, taillights, lifgate cover, door access covers, stainless and misc hardware. I do have a partial set of stainless perimeter pieces rear for the rear wagon seat if you want them. The bumper jack does not look original but, they are worth a decent amount if properly identified. That chrome teardrop antenna base is cheap to replace and can't remember if those rear cargo area stainless or aluminum strips are original or not, they should have phillips head fasteners. That front split bench 2 door seat should work fine for the car the only thing to research is there are 3 different base seat rail mechanisms. The hardtop and Nomads should have the lowest or the shortest seat rails because of the lower roofline. If it has the taller rails then the seat may be from a sedan or other model with a higher roofline. If you take a picture or measure the rails, Don may be able to tell you if that has the correct rails for a Nomad or not. It shouldn't be too much of an issue unless you are taller and the taller rails cause you to have headroom clearance. Make sure you grab the u shaped bench seat hooks off of the old floor too. Great video again Randy and I'm looking forward to the next one! Take care!
I was looking at the parts on the table. The small thin stainless pieces go on the inside of the tailgate, the 3 pointed pieces are nail guards that go around the outside door handle. The little arrowhead piece goes at the base of the antenna. Looks like you have most the piece off the car. Some of the line thin stainless could possibly be inside door panel trim. It's a really cool nomad man
Thanks Don! Hopefully sometime you can come up and look it over in person. If you do I’ll buy you some lunch around the lake! I really appreciate your help and will be needing more! I hope you’re up for it! 😂

just noticed the dash bezel for the speedometer looks to be automatic car. keep eye out for what happened there if all parts are there for the standard or the auto which ever one your going to have. hope nothing is jacked with.,, if engine is original the engine code may help. the stamping will be a two letter stamp on the block on a pad toward the front of passenger head. pad will be about two and a half inch long and three quarter wide. can see with out removing anything.
I think you mentioned this auto/manual conflict in the last video and I forgot to take a deeper dive into this. I will make a special point for this in the next video. From what I remember when I was under the car the clutch setup looked correct and I think the steering column had the levers for the shift rods. I’ll look more at the clutch pedal too. Some from this I’m guessing the dash bezel may have been changed. ?? But it needs more investigation. Thanks for pointing this out and I will get some video!
The narrow stainless trim strips were probably for the door upholstery panels. The 4 (or so) “Masonite looking strips” about 8” long are for the inside face of the tailgate. The small sheetmetal pieces cover holes in the inside face of the quarter panels (underneath the upholstery panels). As for the one piece frame, I believe the “urban myth” on those is calling them California frames and only on the ‘57’s. I don’t think that’s completely accurate. You’ll know more about your project once it gets power washed. Keep nipping away at it.
Can’t wait to be driving it around when I’m 16😂
We can make that happen! ❤
The change under the seats will be real silver!
