Derrick Rose - Basketball's Greatest WHAT IF?

  • Derrick Rose, the Windy City Assassin. Until injury derailed his career, he appeared like the heir apparent to Michael Jordan. Glinding around the basketball court, he flew through the air, slamming, scoring, and dominating the league. He won rookie of the year, he won an MVP...he was the favorite son of Chicago, and an absolute beast in the clutch. Today's video is an extension to my older video on Derrick Rose. I've long wanted to add the appropriate ending to this edit, one which covers Derrick Rose's wonderful 50pt game, where he symbolically returned to form, even if just briefly. This video gives a fun overlook of Derrick Rose's career. All of his greatest moments, dunks, game winning shots, comebacks, downfalls, injuries, upsets, and triumphant clutchness...see it all again.

    Hey everyone, this is an extension to my older Derrick Rose video. I cleaned up some of the audio, but mostly left the original stuff intact. I get asked to put the triumphant 50pt game into it all the time, and since it was a very popular video I decided I'd finally get around to it. There is no Voice Over narration this time, as it was an older video and it felt odd to switch from one style to the other mid-video.

      It's crazy to know that no one has come close to drose since his injuries. This man was legit an anomaly in the NBA. Yes, we have Westbrook, John wall, morant, and kyrie. All of the combined created Drose in one player. It's like the nba drafted bites and pieces of Drose and spread him out amongst different teams. If you watch the interview with Noah, he embodies what we all still feel about being robbed. All he needed was rest and proper landing techniques such as Westbrook getting in training.

      @lilmaestro358 never thought of it like that but true. Different pressure one to bring a title to a deprived city... the other to bring the city out of the shadow and back into glory. In my opinion I say rose had it harder. To be the first u can do it however u want. To bring glory back u have 2 do it the first time and then at least one more time to get out of a shadow.

    • @orestes1984
      @orestes1984 3 месяца назад +1

      It's truely sad the help that Derrick Rose got was Carlos Boozer.... The Bulls managment is a clusterfuck, and as per usual they have since traded away proven talented players that have flourished at other teams. Now I'm not saying Boozer wasn't good, but he was a shadow of himself when he played at Utah... and that contract...
      I don't care if you drafted Noah and Deng, get the man a proper offensive screening player so he didn't have to play Lebron one on one and it might have been a different story.

    • @shanealan7493
      @shanealan7493 3 месяца назад

      @@orestes1984 I pretty much agree about Carlos “Consolation Prize” Boozer. Bulls brass whiffed on LBJ, Wade and Bosh so all we had to scrape up was Booze, who in his own respect was a pretty good Pick & Roll player at the time.
      Chicago fans do deserve a better fandom pretty much all around.

At the end of the day, he'll always be my fave player ever, and I'm glad he's still going strong after all those years ago, he deserves to get his number retired to the rafters one day.*

      I just wrote that as a message at the top. 4th quarter with 1 min and 30 seconds left in a freaking PLAYOFF GAME. Not a regular season but one that would have gotten them to the finals. Everyone wanted to see the Bulls vs. Heat Game.
      That sorry fat slob of a drunk coach robbed us all by not taking his superstar player out. The crazy thing about it is they were up by 12 points with 1 min and 30 seconds left. That still upsets me until this day. Drose body needed to rest. All of us know that while playing any sport, rest is needed to help prevent injuries. Case and point with Drose. I used to give players shit for sitting out when tired.
      Everyone has learned from drose sad story on what not to do. Coaches and GMs learned as well. Fake injuries or sickness to rest a player to avoid fines.

    Man D Rose was just greatness, unique blend of power, speed, athleticism & killer instinct. I have no doubts was going to impose his will on the Cavs and lead us to a 7th championship. It was just a matter of time. I’ve never been more devastated by a sports injury and probably never will. We saw his brilliance for only a couple of years and were robbed of his true prime. 25/8 & 22/8 at age 22/23. Lord only knows what numbers he would’ve hit as he matured and evolved into something even more special. Mad love to him still being in the NBA.

    This was a great video! One of the best “what if” players of all time! Glad to see he’s still pursuing his dream.

    Man had greatness in his vains all of us, not the least of whom himself, got robbed of. That being said, in terms of style, this man had an iconic silhouette, lanky extremities gracefully floating to the rim, I put up there with the likes of Kareems skyhook or Dirks euro ass fade-away jumper. Absolutely iconic, no other word for it...

    Its crazy man, but I actually get emotional watching this. He will always be my favorite player no matter what life delt him> The fact that he didnt just give up makes him a champion in my book!
