I love all the plantbased restaurants, the parks, walking on Dallas Road, the weather & the people! Best place I've ever lived!!!! Small town feel with big city amenities - it offers everything you need for a great lifestyle.
It's a pretty amazing place to live and I'm happy you love it here.
I’m moving to victoria bc soon
Great tips on pros and cons for moving to Victoria.
Buddy if you think Victoria is remote you dont know what remote is. Go live in Holberg or Zeaballous for a year and then you will know what remote is.
Ofcourse there are more remote areas. To most people that are considering moving to victoria bc are coming from the lower mainland, Alberta, and Ontario….. island living could feel remote.
if there’s anyway I can help feel free to message me.
it's windy as all four winds here. no mention of that? ALL FOUR WINDS< EVERY DAY> great local transit. I live in the heart of James Bay, nobody local says hello back to me. I have better conversations with the tourists. LOTS of homeless folks in the parks, downtown, and designated *Bad* neighborhoods. It's great in the summer. Outlying ares are being built up. There will be a shortage of water for them. Think twice. Come as tourists.
You’re right. It sure can get windy sometimes and we have a visible drug and homeless problem downtown. Thanks for adding comments.

any homeless issues in Victoria?
Yes. Unfortunately, it’s very visible downtown.
Plenty! With the best climate in Canada it's the ideal place to be homeless. It's not all rosy as drugs and random violence can be a problem. Rental rates are so high I can see why some people are homeless. Some university students are homeless and quite a few live in vans.
One thing most real estate videos do not mention is the traffic. The major increase in traffic is one reason I would consider moving away. The roads are narrow and we're never designed to accommodate the number of vehicle of today. The city council seems to be obsessed with installing bike lanes almost everywhere to the detriment of traffic. Blocked and narrowed roads create more traffic jams.
Many of your comments ring true except I do not find the winter weather so bad. Unfortunately developers are turning Victoria into a mini-Vancouver with all the hi-rise condos, now and in the planning stages. Parking is very difficult and almost everywhere in town very pricey.
Those are really good points to add. The bike lanes are getting out of hand especially with so few people using them.
Thanks for your great comment.
Besides the BC Government are there any employers on Victoria Island?
Federal government- military port
Seaspan, victoria shipyards
University of victoria, Camosun college, royal roads university, Lester B Pearson college
Lots of construction, still short on many trades
Vancouver island health authority
Harbour Air, yyj airport
Capital regional district
Many web development companies
Marine research companies
And many more. Is there something specific that your looking for?
Why does your video glitch?
I'm not sure, but I've recently upgraded hardware and software. Hopefully that solves the issue.
Thanks for the feedback.

Victoria is not in the Pacific Northwest! We are the Pacific Southwest of our country. Or the Pacific Midwest of North America.
My mistake. I should have also referred to it as Cascadia to clarify what I meant by Pacific Northwest.
I hear that a lot.
