What a special time we had together, Fit Farmer Family! We are so happy that our LGD puppy is now with your family to help protect your homestead. What a fantastic video to document our time together! God bless, and we will see you soon!
I've raised German Shepherds Belgian Malinois and livestock Guardian dogs it's never never hurts to leash training dog because if you need to take him to the vet there is always a good reason to lease train a dog something happens or he escapes and somebody else needs to get a hold of them that just helps please train them whether they're working on dog or not
The Dog's name could be seven he was the seventh member of your road trip and the seventh puppy born. Love the videos congrats on the new puppy cant wait until you get another one to roam with him. Hugs from Canada
Beautiful puppy, nice addition to the homestead. If he was puppy number seven in the litter....why not call him BOND, (James Bond 007). Just a suggestion.
Hello. Just subscribed to a sprinkle of soil. Please let them know they must remove the ropes from the bails of hay. So dangerous for the animals. They have a beautiful farm. I so love how well your children act everywhere they go. Your children are such a blessing. Congratulations on the new puppy. P.S. a good name is Sundance
He's absolutely right! Our female LGD is way more fierce than the males are. One day the herd was out in the mountains with our dogs, and our 6 month old female LGD took one of our goat's back from a mountain lion and walked back home with the goat and the rest of the herd. Their ears were up and they flew back home! The goat's coat was black and I could see a massive dust paw print on his back where the lion swiped him down. The goat later died of infection in his neck from the bite from the lion to his throat, but I'll always remember that day! So happy for you guys!
Did the goat get an antibiotic shot to make sure the bites didn't infect him? You don't have to take it to the vet. You can learn how to give shots. sorry-you must know that.
@@vgil1278 No, we cut it up after it died and fed it to the dogs. Death was very fast, since mountain lion saliva is very nasty and kills quickly. We don't take antibiotics and neither do our animals. Antibiotics come with a price and we avoid them unless life or death. These animals are meat for us and our dogs and cats so giving antibiotics is counterproductive to raising our own meat. This animal was a buckling who was destined to be meat anyway.
Great breed combination. And folks need to know that LGD are working dogs. And even as household pets. They are great, but will very protective of their "herd". So they need lots of socializing. Even as a working farm dog. They need socializing. Very cute addition to the homestead and family.
Hi Mike and Lacey, I suggest the name Sheva for the new puppy. The meaning of the name is the number 7 in Hebrew. Like Shabbat which is the seventh day and the day of rest.
We have 2 anitolian/ great Pyrenees crosses and they have kept all predators around us away from bears, foxes to raccoons. Great dogs very happy with mine
Boomer he comes back again. That was my guardian dogs name he passed away 2 years ago and I promise you will enjoy him and his presence on your farm . God bless your new puppy and y’all ❤
What about Samson, like the story Samson and Goliath. P.s. our Chesapeake bay retriever males name is seven, because he's our seventh dog. My husband couldn't come up with a good name, so he named him seven. Hello, we are first-time viewers and I love what I'm seeing 😊 God bless you all
What a beautiful vlog. What a beautiful lovely family you visited. What a great adorable addition to your family farm. My name suggestions are; Max, Charlie , Teddy, Gabriel, Bruce, Ziggy.
Oh my goodness look at sailor and her three brothers seeing how fast they’ve grown the babies got big my goodness and this is just what you needed is a guardian dog for the property. It’s a new adventure.❤❤❤ so blessed to have lovely friends, beautiful animals and loving hearts
Thank you Lucy, for being so kind and nurturing to the pup!! Though he is a guardian dog, he is just being ripped from his old life to strangers and new place! A little softness, pets, tenderness and kindness doesn’t hurt them doing there first days of transition ❤ please also do there mandatory veterinary vaccinations for long healthy resilience and life. ❤
just ordered Sophias book and subscribed to their channel. what a beautiful family ..... Congratulations on your new pup!! Gabriel "Gabe" for an idea :)
No, I'm glad people can see the importance of outdoor, working dog. We had working dogs on the farm and they were made for outside. They had the run of the farm and usually slept either on the porch if it was warm or in the hay barn if it was cold. 😀😀👋👋💖💖
I like what Goss said. He's a Moses for sure. Beautiful LGD❤❤❤ God bless you 🙏🏻 all. Many prayers 🙏🏻 ❤️ Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻
Our puppy, Arya, is your new puppy's sister so does this make Jon and I Uncle and Aunt to your puppy and y'all are Aunt and Uncle to our Arya? 🤔😂 👋Thanks for visiting our little farm and helping with the soil test. It was great meeting you and your family! -Aunt Bre
Love how Lacey gave the pup a homeopathic remedy for being scared❤. I use Bachs Rescue Remedy for anxiety. Congrats on your families new addition. Great mix of dog breeds.
I bought the "Nourishing Asian Kitchen boo", I love Asian food and I can't wait to cook from it. Thanks, We have a Golden Retriever named "Bogey". It was the name of the winning dog from the Westminster show that year 8 years ago.
? Have you thought about Just Building a shed to house, then doing what you were guys planning on doing? love your channel Love your family. I'm just not too crazy about the tent home look. I love an actual structure for A home. Something you could paint outside and Add things to it or build as years and time goes by. I Love what the Hollar Homestead have been doing to the new addition.
💚 What a fun little adventure/trip to visit your hometown and your fellow homesteaders! Nice place they have there and congrats on your new LGD..I like the name Seven. 💚
You have a new puppy how wonderful. We also have a new LGD she is 13 weeks old and was 6 weeks when she came to live with us. A blend of mostly Karakachan followed by Great Pyrenees then Anatolian and Akbash. Sue is what was settled on for her name and she lives in the cattle barn. We have always leash trained and crate trained our dogs just in case we needed either option. Our vet has suggested both as a precautionary measure. We told them we were already doing that. Sue is a sweet addition to our farm. What ever your Puppy is named he will be well loved by all.
Prayers for you all and your beautiful new guard puppy 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️. Poor little guy was so scared. 💔 I know you will give him the best life. God Bless. Grammie Suzie from Bradenton Florida
I like the focus on 7. I’m a Shabbat keeper so I looked up names related to it. Shlomo is one. Names are important. I had a GS named Elka( protector of mankind) and she lived up to her name.. yet I have a Weimaraner named Gracie who has little spatial body awareness(maybe weiner dogs influenced her). Whatever you choose, I’m sure it will be great.
Beautiful dog! And I've been following Tim and Sophie- what a wonderful home from which to bring the puppy! I like the below comment of "Braveheart", also "Seven" (or Bay, ask Sophie for Vietnamese pronunciation for seven) and "Moses". Have fun!
Hi guys! What a wonderfzl visit! Cute dog! Hey Hesekiah did say a dog name...it sounded like Bajoo- I love that and Salomon as well...Enjpy your new guardian puppy :) God bless and hugs! (PS this ol german girl lived 1,5 yrs in Gastonia with frequesnt visits to Charlotte :)
What a sweet puppy. I'm not good with guessing names until I've spent a little time with it so I can see what his personality is like. My black lab/Australian Shepherd mix is Sadie Mae. She is sweet, loveable, laid back, not in your face, type of dog. She is the most intelligent dog I've had in 63 years. Let your pup show you what his name should be. Take a week or 3 to get to know him. But most of all so he can get to know you. I don't know how to train a guardian pup. So, I can't help you there. Good luck. Your friends seem like great people and a wonderful family. I'll have to check out their channel.
We have had LGDs that lived with our goats for the last 25 years. I was the best decision we ever made. You will learn with time just like you did with the new cow. (smile)
i love all these names. i have a son Jacob then two cats Ezra and Noah! they are indoor cats. Ezra is a sweet young male, calm, loving and kind. Noah is the youngest and he is onto everything! he's playful, full of energy and considerate. buy boy are these cats chalk and cheese in personality. I got these cats because my son is autistic and these cats love to support him by using compression therapy. they are not trained but they live up to good cat behavior and their names!
We have 3 guardians Ruth , Boaz & their daughter Bernadette. The way too their heart is food . He's a sweetie can't wait to see what you name him. A strong Bible name would be great !

Hi.,..MIKE DICKSON Thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍 👍👍

I really enjoy when you go visit other farms. I think Seven would be a great name.
I would call him "Braveheart." He's going to be a great guardian dog for you.
Hey what about Moses. He’ll surely be protecting your flocks, family, and homestead.

They remove them when they go in the fence.
Awe, he'll bond in time with your family, just like the cow has.

Yall will need to brush him to keep his coat healthy. Also a grooming twice a year. The brushing also helps with bonding with the family.

Dogs respond best to two syllable words and certain sounds. I've always chosen names along those lines with great success.
The Dog is a guardian, so i would choose a Viking fighters name like Loki or Floki. Greetings from Berlin Germany
The old tv program, Grizzly Adams, had a character, Mad Jack, who had a mule called No.#7!🤠
Your new puppy is beautiful! Thank you for introducing us to the Eng family, I will be checking them out. Btw...I like the name Hoss.
I've not had LGD, but I've had many German Shepherds. Always the females are way more protective. Good luck!
