Hey there, Mike! Just wanted to say I'm very much enjoying watching you play through all these old FPS games lately :) Since you love _Doom II_ so much, did you know there's an officialy released expansion pack for that game? It's called *No Rest for the Living* - the episode consists of nine brand new levels and they're really well done and a lot of fun to play, so if you're looking for more _Doom_ games and stuff, you might want to check that one out ;)
1:33:38 the level designer knew you would try to hide in there, so cool xDD that being said, never liked when people think it's cool to use Barons of Hell like regular enemies... too many goddamn shots to get rid of it, just annoying to deal with
1:26:53 E2M6 map... this is where gzdoom fucks shit over once again... that room there should be totally in the dark, in gzdoom the lighting effects are gone and the atmosphere is totally ruined... if you search for speedruns of that map E2M6 (gzdoom is not accepted for official speedruns, that's why these videos are good for comparing how the classic game really looked) you will instantly notice the difference... Prboom, DoomLegacy, CrispyDoom, or even Doom95, all of these will look right... avoid zdoom/gzdoom variants unless you strictly need it for specific mods, it's a different experience, even enemy A.I. and physics are different, it's re-done from zero so it's different
DoomLegacy, despite being old, still works in modern Windows... to make Doom95 work in modern systems however, you will need to obtain a file called DPLAY DLL and copy/paste it into the Doom95 directory, also mark it for Win95 compatibility mode and 256 colors
Mike you treat your fan community awesome and i love watching all your videos! the very first AVGN episode i watched was when you were bugs bunny and ive watched damn near all of your videos on youtube since then! keep it up you are awesome!
I don't know how he got hold of it but by the sounds of things, Mike is using the literal same keyboard that I was using to play this game back in 1994.
Mike other suggestions of PC games from that era : Shadow Warrior 1997, Hexen, Heretic, Carmaggeddon, original Quake and of course Duke Nukem 3d (this ones overdue man!)
there's a huge map pack Campaign designed specifically for Brutal Doom that went by the name "Hell On Earth: Starter Pack" divided into episodes, episode 2 featuring huge outdoor sprawling maps across city environments, really cool stuff (CPU slowdowns guaranteed LOL)
there's an updated version called "Extermination Day", as far as I know they are the same exact maps, but as I haven't played it yet myself I can't attest for the quality of it

@@mikematei haha sorry for the caps just wanted you to see this. I love DOOM and I'm a similar age as you so it brings back plenty of memories. can't wait for the INFERNO episode! and dude good luck on Thy Flesh Consumed it's pretty difficult on Ultra Violence.
Mike is pretty dumb sometimes. He just looks at the numbers and doesn't read what they are based on. I'm pretty sure this is based on game sales and not the quality of the game. Keep not reading things Mike. Edit: For the top 30 list.

I've been subb'd zero months, loving every moment of it
that dark corridor in halls of the damned combined with the music in that level freaked me out when i was younger
My first playthrough of doom was in VR. Scariest level for sure, my knees were shaking.
I come here for the Shinning references and stay for the Ultra Violence fellow droogs.
I'm playing through doom 64 at the moment. pretty evil. walk around hearing babies crying n shit. love it

youtube is deleting comments that don't even have curse words on it, that's why you have to divide into parts, god dammit
if anyone wants to try these alternatives that are not gzdoom...
...the passcode to warp directly to the E2M6 map is...
I D C LEV 26

Awesome stream. Happy Halloween Mike.
Does anyone else scream at the TV while Mike passes up shit he keeps looking for?
Maybe not that, but it's mystifying that he completely bounced past the berserk pack in E2M2.
@@Corpseplower also "I need ammo, I have no ammo" completely misses shot gun shells while whirling around. IT'S RIGHT FUCKING THERE! *throws remote*
Just bought Doom 1,2 and 3 for ps4. They just released them. So u kno i had to come play it and watch Mike say FUUCK!!!
