george 669 Rev limiter... (like the word already says) is limiting BEFORE there can happen something. When the engine is warm... You use the right engine oil... You change the oil in the right intervals (like bmw tells to do)... watch the cooling fluid temp + the oil temp... there is no problem at all. By the way... the bmw m engineers put the limiter not there where the real limit is... there is still a little tolerance above this limit... most people don´t know that but it´s true.

Nope that is not big, 5.0L was what we had in sedans in the 90's 7.0L an up are getting big. But a beautiful engine never the less.
