This is an underrated trope: people who say that they're evil, but they're actually doing a lot more good than they realize

So pretty much the noble adopted the little girl, told her she has chores, and an allowance. This is rather adorable.

No. He's trying to be evil and is just really bad at it. That's the entire joke, He's the worst villain ever.
@@sinisterthoughts2896 No, he is the BEST villain ever. When the girl grows up, I hope she gets as twisted as he is.
@@hasturking9635 his intentions are all self centered, he hadn't "adopted" her, he enslaved her. The problem is as a noble he thinks working 4 days a week would be soul crushing, but he also thinks so much of himself that he wouldn't allow someone who is too debased to be in his presence. He doesn't help her for her sake, he does so for his ego. It's hilarious, but he definitely is trying to actually be evil, but is too detached to understandwhat suffering is. It's the entire punchline.

@@Ceriu agreed, and yeah, def want a part 2
@@TheAngriestGamer.That looked like a real meal to me not leftovers but you have a really good point and probably at least mostly right. Though I'd like to believe he's more of a tsundare. As he didn't take the route of 24/7 labor, gave her good cloths and even a good meal not some slope or what have you. He also didn't beat her or even yell at her when he got wine on his cloths.
I honestly love how these videos encapsulate the idea of "irony". Obviously it all is playing on subverting expectations of well known tropes. But the manner in which is done is what makes it good writing. The rich guy honestly thinks he is being impulsively evil when in reality, he is unwittingly making the orphan's life better. The gag with the slave contract especially got me because I couldn't help but chime in "You fool, you could have gotten a better deal!"

I really cracked up at the "Why TF are you eating my dog's food?" part
Man, coming back from the full series, its interesting to read his actual intentions when he speaks. Like how "Ah, let her cry, she knows whats coming!" actually means, "Kim, lay off a bit. The poor girl clearly needs a minute."
The thing is Kim is also a very good person but just acts like a jerk to keep up the subterfuge.

I almost spit out my lungs from laughter.
Well, if you think about what slavery is, in the Roman Empire, and subtract 98-99.9% of the punishment for slaves, you could say that pretty much everyone in America is a slave if they don’t own their own business. But even then, everyone is a slave to the government at that point, even those who work for the government. I want this to be a full series, just imagine how many times the master tried to scared the little girl only to be backfired
I think the master is actually a very kind person it's just his way of speak that sounds like a villain. Maybe he was an orphan too and deep down really understand what the girl felt.
@@rumuelnathanael8043 Nah, he is definitely someone who wanted to be a villain, but much more intelligent and also naive standpoint.
More intelligent, in which he rather have the slave to eat and not being dead from malnutrition, because from a long term, it's much beneficial for them, as the productivity gets higher, but naive in a sense that they don't really understand how much suffering do these people actually get in the real world
He can't be kind because his wording are completely from a villain standpoint, with hardly anyway to interpret it as a good guy. If his tone was evil, but his wording are much more kinder, he would not express her paid leave is only 3 days per month, or that she need to work more than half of the week.

I love whenever a character is made that at first impression might seem like a bad guy, but after a while you realize that he in fact isn't such a terrible person. In life we often judge people much too quickly.
This Noble guy seems like the tipe of villain who wants to be terrifying and evil but don't have the malice to do It right, so he ends up being oddly nice and wholesome, while doing good without realizing It.
I love this consept :^D
I always find it funny how Chiktatoon makes the beginning really sketchy like something bad is gonna happen, but then there's a happy ending.
Funny how she basically just ended up getting adopted.
Nah bro, she's still binded to the slave employment contract.
@@suacemanaquiatan9380 To be fair, she only has to work 4 days a week with a 30 days break a year where she still gets paid, free food, free accommodation and the guy doesn't treat her like shit. She is in better work condition than a lot of people today. Also, can you even call it slavery anymore if the noble went out of his way to make a legal work contract which the girl willingly signed instead of declining? It's almost as if he's offering her a job, whether intentionally or not, instead of trying to enslave her. He may be evil but he followed the law, that's for sure.
@@A-1412 True, I'd like to see a second episode where the noble tricks her into receiving a bi-weekly allowance so that she has spending money on the weekends too.
@@A-1412 I’d take that “slave contact”
Honestly, legally speaking the fact that its an employment contract negates the 'fact' that it's slavery. Slaves don't get paid nor do they have contract or employment. A slave is an unwilling servant that is considered property. That's the definition of slave. Of course I think the point is that it isn't really slavery. Whether the noble thinks he's causing her to be miserable or thinks he's evil or thinks he adopted her or whatever he thinks, the point is that he's being more than fair.
I love how everything he says makes you think he's gonna do something really bad to the little kid but ends up being quite the opposite.

That's actually pretty common misconception of slavery. You have to care about your slaves and never let them die due to overwork, otherwise you must obtain a new one which can be really expensive. Additionally you must feed them and provide them a place to sleep.

This would actually make an excellent full-length anime series if given the right budget. One where she just keeps expecting something bad to happen and as each episode goes by she slowly starts to realize that she's got it made.
She then gets scolded and forcefully sent off to take a break when she is caught doing work on the 5th day.
"The contract says 4 days, don't you dare try to get me in trouble for working 5 days of the week!"
I love the irony of this. Being a slave gives her more freedom than being free.
I would really watch this concept as a series where she has to pretend around the nobel to feel badly treated but deep inside she is the happiest girl.

My favourite troupe is “villainous” looking characters flipping that stereotype and actually being kind 🥺🥺 I love this sm
Go watch ephithet erased youre gonna especially love one of those characters
This channel apparently does this quite a bit. Likewise he isn't exactly flipping the stereotype as much as he is the embodiment of a different kind of evil. His own ignorance of the life of the working class warps his view of "good", "bad" and "ugly". He's obviously trying to be "bad", yet because he's a noble he knows he needs to follow the law, hence contracts. However, where the warping comes in is that you can see this man has never worked a day in his life, everything he has is inherited and not exactly his own, it's gotten off the work of others. Likewise, he sees anything that involves labor as absolute torture and hell, he has servants to do any kind of tasks needed. However, he sees working any more than 4 days in a given week as something beyond evil and won't even subject the poor orphan to that. He feeds her because he wants her able to work for those for days.
He either lives in ignorance believing he is evil or is just playing the part because everybody sees nobles are evil people when they're really just ignorant. He doesn't want the orphan to believe that he's actually a kind person but eh, there's a lot of ways to interpret what's going on.
