The 01 luck goes past the LMDh era, they had a lot of bad luck in the DPi era too, starting with catching a flat tire while battling for the lead at the end of Daytona 2021.
Cadillac is kinda the Sysiphus of current LMDh regulations. Even Red Wheelen and Blue CGR sister cars had their good share of misfortune. Love that car, both for the looks and engine sound, but now I have a "hanging anvil" feeling every time when I see their race. Hope that Wayne Taylor and Jota can break this curse.
Part of me can't help but wonder if the Cadillac's been afflicted with the racing equivalent of the Madden curse because it's the Forza Motorsport 8 cover car. (also insert shoehorned "built from the ground up" joke here)
There is a weird curse where if a current racing car is featured on the cover of a video game, it performs awfully IRL. THIS car is on the Forza Motorsport cover
Excellent video. This car has been cursed for so long, showing brilliance but never being able to avoid incidents... Hopefully it get's replaced by a new car from Dallara, can't risk the curse living on
Maybe it should've been pink or unambiguously gold this whole time That or CGR should've ponied up and ran 2 cars in both series. Perhaps there wouldn't be as many Yellow (and Blue) Caddy moments if another car was there to gather data and share the load
@@1nterntalkswheel590 They also happen to be colors of the stars in the Steelers logo, so I still suspect it was a deliberate decision on Chip's part to run the yellow and black car stateside and send the blue one he also owned to Europe full time.
Was it really that unlucky? I say it was one of the unlucky racing cars. Unlike the #60 Roush’s Xfinity car in 2018, the Yellow GTP/Hypercar Yellow Cadillac at least won some races, was a championship contender this year, and won their last race in a scary but badass way at Road Atlanta! It had an happy ending at least. But yeah I can’t imagine being a Cadillac or Ganassi fan
Rip yellow caddy you wouldve loved Scott Dixon 7th title
Those final laps of Petit were pure heart attack

I've been a fan since the beginning. It's been tough. Big Sebastian Bourdais fan.
I’m so happy to be at that Laguna Seca race. Now knowing that the car is being retired, it feels even more special

imagine toyota at 2016 le mans but its every other race
The caddy was absolutely cursed, it didnt get good luck till they changed it to pink, a different color from how it looks on the Forza cover

The cover car curse strikes again!!
this car is so unfortunate that getting rear-ended at 2023 Le Mans barely gets a mention
if i see caddy i think about a small vw van called THE CADDY
Can't wait for Jota to run these babies next year in WEC 😍

Chip's Caddy days were numbered after he ran over that puppy

Thanks for the detailed caddy report👍

cadillac really had that Wile E. Coyote energy this year

At least the CGR Caddy’s are going to be raced by Wayne Taylor Racing next season in IMSA.
Yellow is a weird color for a Cadillac, but Chip Ganassi is from Pittsburgh, right? I've always thought of this one as the Steelers car.
The three car colours (red for Action Express, blue and yellow for CGR) are based off of the logo for Cadillac V Series logo

Being a caddy fan might be worse than being a Ferrari fan
Imagine being both :/

According to the description, it was to some! Unfulfilled is more like it!
Could be worse.
You could be a fan of the blue Caddy in WEC.
This season has been nothing but every style of pain so far.
being an 01 fan since its inception has been some pain
@@braaandon5716 it’s been a painful few years to be a Wayne Taylor Racing and Corvette Racing fan despite some wins and title contending for me
@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT Corvette are demons in quali tbf. But something always happens in the race.
Secrashtain Bourdais certainly racked up the bills, Renger Van Der Slamde had a fair contribution too.

Its Cadillac gold not yellow
I’m aware. It’s the nickname given to the car on twitter.
@@1nterntalkswheel590 yea I love when the commentators describe it but it does just look yellow
The gold's more obvious on the Cadillac logo but on the LMDh it looks just like Velocity Yellow
