Just discovered Chris Standring today, Sunday's are my day of relaxation, and checking out new or existing artists, especially guitarists,, as I am a 45 year jazz/rock/blues/guitarist. My favorite guitarist is ~Mr. Larry Carl-Tone~ ~!~ Chris Standring sounds like Larry Carlton, and Peter White ~!~ I'll do my best to try and see Chris in June here in the USA~!~ Kudo's to you Chris~!~ Sonny.
Never tire of watching him play. Just the coolest, most soulful (and at times incredibly funky) language so clearly spoken through his music. Whenever you start to wonder what else can be said vis-a-vis musical composition, there he is, perpetually upping the bar - each release evolves beyond the last.
"Strings." Guitar and strings. I'm surprised more guitarists don't incorporate strings in their songs/music. It's truly a beautiful thing. They compliment each other so, so well. I love this song. I'd like to know how it came to be. Riding on a train?? Dream?? Noodling??
