  • Roxette, a Swedish pop rock duo, was composed of Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, they gained international fame with albums like "Look Sharp!" and "Joyride". With hits like "The Look", "Listen to Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", and "Joyride", they secured multiple UK and US chart-toppers. Both were accomplished artists before joining forces. They went on a hiatus after "Don't Bore Us, Get to the Chorus!" and returned in 1999 with "Have a Nice Day" and 2001's "Room Service". A break followed in 2002 due to Fredriksson's illness. They reunited in 2009 and released albums like "Charm School" (2011) and "Travelling" (2012). Marie Fredriksson passed away in 2019 after battling a brain tumour. Their music endures with hits like "It Must Have Been Love" and "Listen to Your Heart", having sold around 80 million records globally. They're Sweden's second-best-selling act after ABBA.

Wow. It feels special because brings Marie again with us again. She was bored with interviews and PR activities, it’s obvious. But I think they got the most of late 80s and 90s media (especially television and radio) to promote their works properly. But she totally transformed herself on stage. A classic pop artist, a natural diva, as we don’t know anymore these days. I’m happy for not having met her more personally (social media, private life) as I love the mix of mistery and closeness that she has. Thanks TMF!
