@Donnieburger80 I held off the old one to wait for a centre diff version. If the 2 in 1 esc gives me problems, I'll just put a hobbywing in it. I'd much rather have a centre diff.
I love my first gen vorteks 3s 4X4, slides on the street handles great plus best basher ive owned, backflips all day. I had my transmitter go bad and had to replace tx/rx with this new 2 in 1 ESC it would cost like five times as much to replace those parts.
I like it. I have a few Arrma cars with the 2 in 1 ESC/Receiver (Gorgon for one) and honestly I don’t mind it so much. I mean, is it top of the line quality, probably not. But, it’s functional. And for guys like me in the hobby since I was a kid, who just lightly blast and bash for fun, this is sufficient. I realize hard core RC guys who are in the hobby for top performance and racing in leagues, etc, this just won’t cut it. But for the average Joe like me, it’s fine. That’s how they keep the prices down. I love this thing. Great video, Mark.
I’m fairly new to the hobby. I got a Typhon Grom BLX and Granite 3S BLX. I’m really beginning to hate body clips. I’m sold on this one for the clipless body, but that aside, I think I like the way the Granite drives better.
when you are trying to do flips, make sure that the DSC is off. also i think arrma throws larger gears in here to hit their top speed claims, put a smaller one and you'll get rid of that cogging issue.
Love my V1 Vorteks.. I added Typhon Arms and MX28 Badlands to it but now Im missing the true stadium truck vibe.. Im going to change out the wheels for something more standard and go for the HPI Nitro MT Racer look..

Great video man I love my v3 vorteks and I agree it is capable everywhere. I think the v3 had a better radio and speed controller but I like the new 3s arrmas
That throttle response is a bit disappointing. It would be interesting to know if the update fixes that, or even dialing back the DSC? It would prevent damage to the diffs, but wheelies are fun and all cars should do wheelies!

The rc industry took 3 steps back with these cheap alieexpress 2n1 escs...if the receiver fails then both need to be replaced. Cheaper components to increase their profit.

2 in 1 ESC is a letdown, not an upgrade
The Vortex Boost was my first car when I got back into the hobby and I still love it.

Does this have a slipper or center diff? It looks like the newer center diff housing like the kraton

Did you manage to programme the 223S esc's with the smart programmer? That sucks it you can't, I'd like to adjust the bec for that servo.
