Man.... I know it's not now but this was probably once a thriving part of town. Think of the lives, families, holidays, laughter, joy, heartache these people once had. The walls in these places still hold those memories. Amazing how life can come and go so fast....
That old restaurant towards the end of the video , there used to be an old black man named Morris who'd eat there everyday. It was his favorite restaurant, he loved that place. Everyday he'd go in and get something irresistibly tasty with a side of pure satisfaction. His favorite was the pork line fritter with mashed taters and mella's corn. He also really enjoyed the hamburgers, he used to always say they had the best burgers north of Cincy. The workers all knew him, anytime he'd order a burger with fries he'd say "Biggity blam blam I want a burger and I'm going ham" "Call me I love Lucy and make dem fries goofy" It broke his heart when the place shut down. He passed on not too long after that, some say the closing of the place is what killed him. He had no purpose in life anymore that he couldn't get a Daily Special bursting with flavors. RIP Morris

Ok. So, sometimes when I am watching an exploration video, I imagine that one day, an explorer comes along, finds a video camera and watches it. Turns out, it is another explorer who dropped the camera, and has not been heard of since. You know, like Blair Witch, or the Roman Catacombs "found" video, or a mental asylum "found footage" horror movie. Watching you explore here, talking to that woman who is obviously in some sort of altered state, listening to you tell her you are alone, the dog . . . Well, of course, this video turned into that horror movie in my head. This is surely one of the creepiest videos I have seen. Always say theres a large group with you, taking photographs of the building, or property that you're on, and if they express how dangerous the area is, explain to them that you always carry a gun. You never know if that innocent pedestrian, is on their way to get re-enforcements, to come back and rob you.

It is insane to me, as a European, that there can be entire neignorhoods and towns, just abbandoned. Here you just see one or two abbandoned houses in a village. People just don't want to, and don't have a reason to leave them. Great video !

Wooly Bling Puppy i think you are on point there. Shady people in positions who shouldn't be there taking money instead of investing it back into the community. Sad that they haven't realized the importance of taking care of people and communities as it will inflate interest in the area for other opportunities to flourish and lift the town and it's people. East Cleveland has no money. A former mayor there got busted for siphoning off whatever remaining money was in the city's trust. Their police force is very small. The only main hospital in the city, Huron Hospital, was shut down "in an effort to consolidate".
I’m visualizing what it would have been like moving into one of these places when they were brand new. Imagine all the happiness that occurred in these homes. Wonder if anyone here would like to comment if they lived there and share some personal experiences (when they were new).
It's so crazy to see such urban decay like this :/ You go out West and every city is thriving with no urban decay in them... mostly just new buildings. You go to the South East and you see extreme poverty but the decay is kind of scattered and large populations of people are buying the cheaper houses... so not so much decay... just poverty. You go to the North East though and you see massive wealth standing right next to extreme urban decay. It's like they are all foreign countries so different and separate from each other with different paths of economic development.

Since he is basically "trespassing" .. pepper spray would be a better choice. Carrying a firearm while committing a "crime" will just get you a harsher charge and sentence. The laws might be different there, but carrying guns while urban exploring, is an overall bad idea.

The wood is called lathe and the " mud " is the plaster. That what makes the walls. Equal to sheetrock today. I would imagine lathe work was extremely labor intensive, and the plastering for that matter..

You've got to stay out of these places man. I explore in St. Louis and I've had some insane experiences exploring the old apartment buildings, and house here. Apartment buildings and house seem to gather the wrong crowd. Explore some schools or hospitals, or places that are slept on. Good video overall, just be safe man!

Man.... I know it's not now but this was probably once a thriving part of town. Think of the lives, families, holidays, laughter, joy, heartache these people once had. The walls in these places still hold those memories. Amazing how life can come and go so fast....
That old restaurant towards the end of the video , there used to be an old black man named Morris who'd eat there everyday. It was his favorite restaurant, he loved that place. Everyday he'd go in and get something irresistibly tasty with a side of pure satisfaction. His favorite was the pork line fritter with mashed taters and mella's corn. He also really enjoyed the hamburgers, he used to always say they had the best burgers north of Cincy. The workers all knew him, anytime he'd order a burger with fries he'd say "Biggity blam blam I want a burger and I'm going ham" "Call me I love Lucy and make dem fries goofy" It broke his heart when the place shut down. He passed on not too long after that, some say the closing of the place is what killed him. He had no purpose in life anymore that he couldn't get a Daily Special bursting with flavors. RIP Morris

Ok. So, sometimes when I am watching an exploration video, I imagine that one day, an explorer comes along, finds a video camera and watches it. Turns out, it is another explorer who dropped the camera, and has not been heard of since. You know, like Blair Witch, or the Roman Catacombs "found" video, or a mental asylum "found footage" horror movie. Watching you explore here, talking to that woman who is obviously in some sort of altered state, listening to you tell her you are alone, the dog . . . Well, of course, this video turned into that horror movie in my head. This is surely one of the creepiest videos I have seen. Thanks for, you know, taking your life into your hands and all, to share your experience. OMG-now you are going into the damn basement???? Bless your crazy lil' heart. Always say theres a large group with you, taking photographs of the building, or property that you're on, and if they express how dangerous the area is, explain to them that you always carry a gun. You never know if that innocent pedestrian, is on their way to get re-enforcements, to come back and rob you.
I don't usually worry to much about all you explorer guys because I know you know what your doing pretty much, BUT I really have to say "you be careful buddy!" because some of these places look a little shady, Just be safe love your videos!!

Sad that they haven't realized the importance of taking care of people and communities as it will inflate interest in the area for other opportunities to flourish and lift the town and it's people. East Cleveland has no money. A former mayor there got busted for siphoning off whatever remaining money was in the city's trust. Their police force is very small. The only main hospital in the city, Huron Hospital, was shut down "in an effort to consolidate".

It's so crazy to see such urban decay like this :/ You go out West and every city is thriving with no urban decay in them... mostly just new buildings. You go to the South East and you see extreme poverty but the decay is kind of scattered and large populations of people are buying the cheaper houses... so not so much decay... just poverty. You go to the North East though and you see massive wealth standing right next to extreme urban decay. It's like they are all foreign countries so different and separate from each other with different paths of economic development.

A sig Sauer P229 .357 would be nice to have around with about 4 extra mags. I live in Ravenna and never leave home without it. You should look into getting a carry permit.
Since he is basically "trespassing" .. pepper spray would be a better choice. Carrying a firearm while committing a "crime" will just get you a harsher charge and sentence. The laws might be different there, but carrying guns while urban exploring, is an overall bad idea.
At least I would be getting out alive. I don't trust pepper spray enough. I am only about 10 minutes away from this place.

I worked in Akron, OH many years ago, back then u couldn't walk a city block with out getting jumped. The wood is called lathe and the " mud " is the plaster. That what makes the walls. Equal to sheetrock today. I would imagine lathe work was extremely labor intensive, and the plastering for that matter..
