  • This is how we build some movable gobos for our recording room, adding a wood base with wheels to some existing broadband absorbers.

    So what type of insulation or absorbers do you have in that gobo? Thanks

      Hi there! Two layers of different high-density flum rock (rock wool)

    A couple things strike me here,, first you seemed so safety conscious by wearing masks when sawing wood but then you use a mineral wool insulation in your panels?? Are you aware that recent research found breathing those fibers are bad for your health and using a beatheable material on the paneldoes not contain particles from getting airborn in your studio. The rigid fiberglass like oc 703 is safer to use. Second,,, for better performance you want an air circulation behind the panel but by mounting wood to one side of the panel you made that impossible.

      Hi there.
      1. We are using rockwool, not fiberglass. Totally safe for your lungs and your health. We are using only material approved by Swiss regulations which, as you may know, are very severe;
      2. Our acoustic engineer disagrees with you on this one. With our gobos we can obtain two different "sound tastes", by positioning our panels facing the sound to the absorbing side (tissue) or to the reflecting side (wood panel).
      Hope that helps!
