Thank you for posting this advice. I bought a tree fern 2/3 years ago and have had great fronds, but not this year. They are deformed, twisted and stunted. New fronds are stuck in the crown. What have I done?
@MarksHouseandGardenUK Dandenong Ranges, out of Melbourne. They grow quite prolifically. There's a vintage steam railway named Puffing Billy, which winds its way through magnificent groves of tree fern. Actually, and when I was much younger, mum and dad would take us out the bush and we'd sometimes come home with one or two 😔. In fact the saw millers and loggers would clear fell areas and bull doze the tree ferns out of the way.
I wish I could grow them in my climate in the US (Chicago). The only part of my country they can grow in is west coast cool but not too cold climates like yours. I’m moving to Florida can only do Australian tree fern there. In my opinion, the Tasmanian are much more beautiful.
Told you that tree fern are addictive! You will have a forest soon 😂🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴
As always, a brilliant beginning to end video with great advice and tips. Many thanks Mark ☘

Mine are very late this year
70 pounds per foot.
My nursery has them for about 20 pounds per foot.
Mind you, up the road from the nursery, they grow in natural habitat.
Hi. I imagine you are not in the UK lol. You should dig a few up and bring them over in your hand luggage 🤣
