I have a 2004 vectra c 1.8 had it a few years now and all i had to do when i got it was change plugs and its been sweet ever since, few bits to change now like crankshaft sensor, thermostat but apart from that it's been great 👍
I’ve brought a Noco GB40 1000A last week to jumpstart my Mk4 VW Golf 2.0 GTi and it started first time!! I’ve been watching videos about the jump starter pack and apparently these are really good depending the capacity and the make! That’s why I’ve brought myself one and I’m surprised it starts with that size of audew jump starter of yours!! 😮😄 I’ve never tried jumpstarting it on the Diesel engines yet!
@@ryhu5642 i came out of work one evening and the exhaust had fell off, had to drive down the road with some tie to hold it just to get me home but then the back box fell off. Luckily the roads were quiet
You should try a product by car plan called trade valet hi-wax rinse after washing martin. Pop it into the snow foam cannon undiluted and spray all over the car using the jet wash. I then either leave it or dry it off (think the instructions say to rinse off but I never have). The cars end up looking like you've waxed them for hours and water beada off like mad. It's about a tenner for five litres. Very good stuff
@@retrorestore you're welcome buddy it's brilliant and lasts quite a while beading as well. Forgot to add if it's really sunny I always dry it off otherwise it does leave little water marks (but these do buff of easier than normal water marks if left). Hope you get on well with it 👍👍👍👍 Will Smith
The Vectra was a much better car than the Insignia. We've had both in the past and the Insignia always had something wrong with it every month. Had it from virtually brand new as well, split turbo pipes, split egr cooler, electrical problems and finally an expensive sounding noise froom the bottom end of the engine from cold. Got the car warm, drove it to the local dealers and traded it in!
That booster was amazing, nice car for the daughter to enjoy. I'm off out in the morning to pick up my (new to me) Mercedes C Class Coupe, I'm so excited. Take care and get the kettle on Sharon :)
Great vid martin. Impressed with the boost pack , Is the old c4 Picasso not coming back over then (assumed it was the UK car they took over originally and not just an identical one they bought in Cyprus)
I had a planet destroying diesel Vectra estate which had to go because of the London ULEZ discrimination. I bought a petrol Astra which despite being planet friendly costs £100 more to tax and only does 30 mpg against 45 mpg that the Vectra did. I really miss the Vectra it was fantastic. If I ever go to live and work outside of London I will definitely have another Vectra
And literally strait after I posted you mentioned the same rubber boots 😆 they claim they’re made that way to stop fumes entering the cabin, I think it’s planned obsolescence, I rip them tubes out on every car I have and never smelt fumes once
On German cars those scuttle panels have piss poor rubber drain holes which clog instantly allowing water straight inside the car frying your electrics. Done on purpose I’m sure. Also what got you in to Vauxhalls? It looks decent for its age
Am no so keen on that style vectra but John Lad has had a few of them he's not really had any problems normal stuff brakes. It cleaned up well for old one. I have been using my neighbour's Karcher it's aright for doing the odd car. If you can't get to the jet wash. Nice T shirt on your Lad. Cheers Martin lol am sure the old vectra will be fine. Does look a good tool to have. Weather has been cold up here in the Highlands mainly wet thought no snow.👍
I realize you are touting the use of the audew jump pack. but why didn't you have a trickle charge on the battery if it was going to sit for 6 months, just disconnect from the system. You more than likely will need to buy a new one now or very soon
I'm not touting anything, Im using what I got to start this car with a dead battery. That battery was out of Sharon's Astra so we put it on the vectra. We have a new battery on it now. we didn't plan for it to sit there for 7 months, it just happened.
I have a trickle charger that came with a set of leads you can bolt on to the battery terminals permanently. In the winter months the battery on my car gets a bit of a hiding running all the lights etc so once a week I just connect the trickle charger to give it some help

I don't know about everyone else, but a clean vehicle always drives better to me... Thumbs Up!
I bought one of these Audew starters after your review, cheers Martin 👍🏻
Nice one!
Liked the tyre pressure kick test

Good video Martin.
A carpet cleaner would get those seats looking much better
Just one question, I've got the same car. How robust are the oil pumps, mines done 160,00 I'm using 5w/40. Cheers!!
its a pretty reliable engine in my opinion.
Great video Martin nice piece of kit that jump pack 👍👍👍👍

Nice touch on the t shirts project Man and nice to see lot back in action

I have a Opel Vectra c 1.8 with 320.000km, but not have any rust. Now you can see, that if you not use your car for a long time, it's gonna rust away.

Good one Martin. That battery jump pack is impressive.
Plenty of room for the Trotter van soon??
You should try the old battery of vectra on the topdon battery charger and maintaner and do repair function on it see what happen
Cracking piece of kit!

I think they are leaving it there, its worth more money out there.
I was wondering what happened to your Vectra
Hi, Martin......did you have to send of to china/america for the jump pack?
No It was on Ebay here in the UK when I got this one.
Thanks for that.
nice one martin your daughter should be very happy with it

Lovely little whip for Tracey and family. Looking good Martin 👍🏻👍🏻

Had the same in an old Renault I had, I think it's to stop bugs crawling up there,( in other countries)
Still gets to me that on the pre face-lift vectra they had bonnet struts but then vauxhall did away with them on the face lift
Big change weatherwise cyprus to scotland Sharon will need to knit them some woollies
Love that battery pack! Maybe interested in getting one !! 👍
Have you both still got the st 220s?
Yes Bill we have
When
You fit new battery make sure you fit 096 the battery that's on is way too small
Yes I know, it was the battery off the astra.
On German cars those scuttle panels have piss poor rubber drain holes which clog instantly allowing water straight inside the car frying your electrics. Done on purpose I’m sure. Also what got you in to Vauxhalls? It looks decent for its age

😂 i agree bill 👍
Quick question, did you manage source your anti roll bar links for the 220? I need to do mine
It doesn't need them.

Wasn't this the one that needs a head gasket as it kept building up water in the exhaust??
It wasn't the gasket
U could try using your new repair charger love the vids and the old cold starts
Old reliable
I would like to win martin
