- G'day guys it's Adam from VideoShowMeHow and in this video I'm going to show you how to rotate a winch gearbox - quick and easy! I'm using a brand new winch (Dominator X Winch) but the process is usually the same for all winches like Warn, Runva, Smittybilt, Superwinch etc.

Saved the day for me!! Thanks, had the bull bar all ready to mount and realised it wasn't going to fit between that and the radiator. 5 mins and it was rotated. Thanks a million
Great video, saved me some trouble, as I had to rotate the clutch due to the mounting position. Your voice was soft, maybe you could talk louder or lower the music volume. Just an idea, but thanks again!

Are there any cases where the motor-side would be rotated?
I'm considering an application where I'd mount the winch feet-up, and would probably want to rotate the motor so that the terminals are not point down.
Sounds like you've just mentioned one :)
Obviously those gearboxes are not fully waterproof

The new ,so called Extreme winches, can't be rotated in this way making them a poor choice. They don't tell you that on purchase.
Remember, cheap arse winch, the poor man pays twice.
Oh really? Interesting.. wonder why they wouldn't allow that in the design?
But that's like the cheapest winch you can probably get. Its a kings!! ??
