As a small detail, the name for the bus, "Nysse" comes from the Tampere dialect and the expression "Nyt se tulee" (now it comes) which a Tampere resident would say "Nysse tulee", and since it was more often than not describe an approaching bus people simply started to call the buses "Nysse".

In Toronto during the winter they put tons of salt on the roads. What is the practice in Tampere to make the streets safe?

That's a good question, it's rocks, thousands of tiny rocks everywhere but most of the time they go under the snow so sometimes it's still super slippery. I remember in Toronto the salt, it works really well! also the salt was on the streets in Germany. The rocks get in the house, stuck in the boots inside the tread, so it's really annoying to clean constantly. Thanks for your fun question!

Nice video! Me as a Finn, it sounds funny when you sai "vuodenaikaa". It is about when you pause it wrong and it sounds like "vuode naikaa". You know what it means?

haha! yes I know this, Vuoden-aikaa but my Australian pronounciation gets in the way Kiitos Paljon - Seasons right? 🤣

I wonder if I should know what it means the way I myself pronounce it, maybe it's best not to know, what do you think?

haha! The problem is we are now in the covid restrictions, and to be honest, I prefer the outdoors even in winter. I don't myself feel the cold so much. Good ideas! and yes let me get to the sauna - Kiitos Paljon 🙃
