    Ive been trying to change my vocabulary about it, its not art, it's generated images. And thats fine, because thats what it is. Once you give it the term 'art' people think about it more emotionally, and its not an emotional tool. It's just a tool.

      I do agree, I think generated images is a more fitting description. I think people will make an argument that “art” is such a a broad term that it still lives under that, but its sub-category is definitely generated images, and like I said in the video, it doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest. I find it boring and lazy. i respect people who spend time to learn a craft, and put real effort, thought and care into their work. Turning a sentence into a picture is a novel trick, but I don’t personally think that takes much effort or imagination.

    The mirror AI could genuinely be part of a horror movie about AI

      My take on this premise. A person is driven mad trying to actually prove there is evil in their home. They take videos of the strange things that happen but no one believes them because everything is fake these days. Like a reverse boy who cried wolf

    seeing how AI fairs on its own makes me feel a little better to know it still has a long way to go in replacing us, i wont start worrying just yet but it is crazy how AI is being pushed on every app, even when its not really needed/adds anything

      It's literally everywhere which is so stressful. Spotify even got rid of their person for music genres just to tell me I like Swedish Grandma Pop or whatever in Spotify wrapped. Big yikes. And AI just makes everything worse.

    I feel like the only really good use for ai is within healthcare, because there are so many more advancements it can produce to make peoples lives easier. All the ai art or ai WITH art just seems like a step back for humanity with too little exceptions to make it worth it.

      I disagree with this a lot simply because of the hallucinations. There should be zero chance of ever diagnosing someone totally in correctly.

    • @completelybooked1546
      @completelybooked1546 8 часов назад

      @@whatevername4873 the type of AI used here (generative AI) vs what is used for diagnosis (deep learning) is a different type of AI with the later not having the same issues with hallucinating information. The AI used in medicine is more about pattern recognition so it’s not making up information. I wouldn’t trust generative AI in medicine either.

    this reminds me a lot of noodle's videos ranting about 60fps AI interpolation being done to animation. 60fps interpolation was promoted for things like sports and racing, so something like a car race filmed in 30fps could be interpolated into 60 and it would still look pretty smooth. so its intended purpose was for live action things that are pretty fast-paced. but then EVERYONE suddenly decided that they need to add it to cartoons that were animated at 24fps and rendered at 30, and it causes some really gross and stilted looking animation and yet you'll see people in the comments section like "wow this looks so good"????? noodles vid was from a few years ago but people still do this and now it's happening to official streaming sites, for example the boondocks on hbo max (which was animated mostly on twos and even threes) now has this 60fps smear all over it and its made it impossible for me to watch, and its literally destroying the preservation of art and artistic intent. so it seems like something like ai-generated frames is something like interpolation which CAN be a useful tool, if used correctly. it seemed to work well for still shots and backgrounds, but dear god those added faces 😭😭😭
    very interesting video peej 👍👍

      Oh man, ok so I've been on a quest to find a good site to watch full metal alchemist (legally of course) and it's such an issue between artifacting, and english subtitles just being awful sometimes or it's in a weird ratio and things qre cut off. Anyways this made me realize that soon I may also be competing with AI generated fma clips like how would I ever know what the original release had in it

    I've loved the work of Aardman, Quentin Blake, and Beatrix Potter since childhood, and I've been drawing and creating my own characters since childhood, so "AI art" absolutely baffles and annoys me. It is not in any way "art" if you haven't physically created it yourself with your own hands (or feet or mouth). You need to hold the paintbrush or pen, or mould the clay, or carve the wood, etc. You need to feel what you're creating on the inside too, because it's a way to express yourself and your individuality.
    I have a little guy I created years ago; I think I was about 12 when I started drawing him. He's unique to me, and I've based other characters on him, so he's like a template, and I've recently realised that's my style. Everyone develops their own style naturally after a while, even if you start out tracing or copying what's already out there (I did from books), but you can't have a unique you-ness in your art if it's typing in a few words to a generator and getting some shoddy images back.
    And this was me putting it very politely lol. I could've said worse.
    Anyway, the video was great to watch. The results you got were kinda freaky tbh lol.
