My best friend, Valerie, died in 2020 at the age of 41, leaving two young children and many who loved her. I love this version of the song. Amy sings like she aches for her Valerie like I do mine. I sure wish Valerie could "come on over."
It’s because she was great. Unfortunately cut short but she was a great singer and songwriter in her own right. Blip of the eye who blessed us with her visit. A rare gift.
It's difficult hearing this on one hand because how effortlessly beautiful her voice comes off here while noticing the constant fidgeting is a sign that she was going through withdrawal and trying to kick her addiction at the same time. It's beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time. If you need help, do Amy's memory a solid and get help. The world is better off with you in it.
Hey Shon, I wonder if you be interested in giving a listen to one of the biggest blues legends of all time. If so, then check out "B.B. King - Payin' The Cost To Be The Boss" (by the channel: Lazyfingers61) This is some of the finest blues you'll ever listen too, this is magical stuff, bro. As always Shon I love your reactions thanks for sharing.
My favorite song by Amy and my favorite version of it.I know she looks very casual here, but she reminds of a friend of mine who would get all twitchy when they were needing a fix.BTW she was British, so she did have an accent.
Check out one of Amy's inspirations from bygone day Janis Joplin, start with ball and Chain. Sadly they are both members of the “27” club 😞 too many incredible talents lost to OD's.
I prefer the studio version. Her choice of drugs was heroin. She’s pretty high in this. How she kept it together shows her talent. The accent is English.
That's very true but I believe what he meant was that he detected an accent that wasn't the standard or neutral American accent, but ironically most singers from the UK sing in a neutral/standard American accent because they grow up listening to and admiring American vocalists. Also, when you sing there is a natural watering down of your speaking accent in addition to the fact that you drop your jaw which causes you to shorten your vowels (the UK accent while speaking involves long vowels, while the standard American accent involves short vowels).
She rocketed right to the Pantheon of the Gods. She will be remembered forever.

I'm sorry for your loss. May she rest easy.
❤🩹
Amy was from the U.K.
This performance is so raw and effortless at the same time, and it kind of breaks my heart thinking about losing her so young.
Just sitting on a settee with someone strumming their guitar.... she was amazing.
Amy Winehouse is from London. I don’t think that is why she sings with the contralto like that. I know she was heavily influenced by soul and jazz.
Many years later, still listening to “Back to Black”
What talent, what a voice.
RIP Amy ✝️
Amy is one of the UK artists that make you proud to be a brit!
RIP Amy you were a great talent
That sound in her voice you're talking about, I believe is the jazz she was raised in!
I think you're referring to the breaks in her voice. That's definitely a skill to master it musically. Love it ❤
Amy was a one of a kind ✨️
Her talent was a gift from God 🙏🏻
Raw talent
Never judge a book by its cover
That little girl had a big voice and a big talent. With big talent. Sometimes big demons come along, no judgment we love you, Amy, RIP, my girl.
well said
"Divine." Exactly right, bro.
You can tell she's geeking throughout this video, RIP dearest Amy.
You're awesome keep it up...I watch you every day
Keep up the hard work shon!
The best, and no autotune ✌️🇳🇱
I am so sorry she is gone. She could have done great things. I hope that someone is taking care of her now.
I'm sure someone probably mentioned this, but you should watch the documentary about her called Amy, absolutely amazing 😊
You’re outstanding, Shon. Real. Good for you. Appreciate you ✊🤙
Yes!!! This version is the best thank you !! ♥️🙏💘
There's a fast version of this song too that's really cool
Honestly this whole session, i think is the best she sounded. Idk why but all my fav versions of her songs are from this session.
This song needs way more reactions...she was a treasure gone way to early 😢❤
Amy..❤❤❤
Brilliant reaction once again !
Another great Amy Acoustic song is from The AOL sessions, especially the “You sent me flying” one 🔥🔥
Me too. I like this version
Such a pleasure to watch your reactions. This one is great ❤
Definitely check out "In My Bed" next from her! Song uses a Nas sample and the production with her vocals is so good!
Amy. Live. In all her twitchy greatness. RIP
It’s because she was great. Unfortunately cut short but she was a great singer and songwriter in her own right. Blip of the eye who blessed us with her visit. A rare gift.
You need to check out Karise Eden - It's a Mans World from The Voice Australia. Now that's a voice that will blow you away!
One of my favorites. She actually does a few different versions of this, you should hit up the super jazzy version she did live on BBC.
Thanks for my daily salute and kiss. 😘

She is British. You're the one with an accent. 😄
May she RIP...

Sad to see someone who has passed singing like this - it’s like if she has come back to us.
My favorite song by Amy and my favorite version of it.I know she looks very casual here, but she reminds of a friend of mine who would get all twitchy when they were needing a fix.BTW she was British, so she did have an accent.
she is unique , top singer and soul shon
I am a new subscriber and enjoy your reactions and you are pretty easy on the eyes as well
Check John Farnham with the Melbourne Symphony doing “Help” - it’ll change your life!
Amy was from the UK❤
Two great videos I think you’d have fun with::
“Words” by Missing persons and
“It’s Oh So Quiet” by Bjork.
I hope you’ll bless us with a reaction. 😎
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I believe she's English!

Hello from Cody Wyoming
A valor is ment word wise as a person who defends others
an oddly happy and vital song. gone much too soon.
BEST THING TO COME OUT OF ENGLAND SINCE THE BEATLES. FACTS!!!
Vibrato, my friend
She was a Londoner.
And now you also have to see Angelina Jordan's version of Valerie - ruclips.net/video/vx3Hr_BRe0I/видео.html 😊😊😊
Tom's Diner (Cover) - AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks
This version is good, but I prefer the Mark Ronson version.
I think she was fiening for some drugs because she was on drugs really bad but she definitely has that sing effortlessly style that is also so natural
I prefer the studio version. Her choice of drugs was heroin. She’s pretty high in this. How she kept it together shows her talent.
The accent is English.
might be because she's British.
Jelly roll, baby
Not “country”. 😂 English. British…….
Sly and the family stone everyday people
This is great, but I much prefer the studio version...
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎😥
Accent? Well, everyone has an accent.

Its time you did Stranglehold by Ted Nugent
You can clearly see she’s in the throws of addiction here. Such a shame…
