I absolutely love how the Landlord approaches you at the beginning of the game. Simultaneously hilarious and creepy as hell.

That's something people in Japan will do, not to strangers though. They are very blunt sometimes. They will tell you "you're fat" or " take a shower" to your face. It's funny i guess?

This is definitely the beginning of a horror game where you know the main character will die.

ChillasArts make horror through the ordinary. Through ordinary everyday things, among which there really is something frightening. So there's something special about their games. The walking simulator fits just as well, as the games are not long, there are no complex mechanics, and there are also no a bunch of notes. The only drawback, there is not enough elaboration of animations.
Ah, is it that guy again? :p I often find myself liking 2D ones more as a bunch of them often have a lot more plot for some reason, though I at least liked the atmosphere of those particular 3D ones... not sure about the rest. :p

"the freaky lady" who kills the landlord and monk in the good ending is actually the SON of the first woman that the monk "held off" on killing. He kept him there chained up in the cellar for all this time.
Oh i thought the son was the guy that is mysteriously wandering around the apartment, who is on the wanted notes no?

i mean, in the good ending they tell us the village wasn't there in the first place, so it could be both. It's just ghosts.
I was so scared that setting him free would unleash a creepy ending. I'm so glad though that he repaid your kindness.

I am glad she got saved (referring to good ending) and that the monk and landlord died but it was sad when she shouldn't remember why she was there and can't remember her sister. Kinda makes me think she survived and all but it wouldn't bring any justice to her sister's memory💔

I think this is the only Chilla's Art horror game where one of the MCs survived.. I have some questions though : is there no way to save Maina at all?? I think the choices like not accepting temple blessing and not throwing the okiku doll could have saved her?

I could have sworn that ages ago when I watched a Silent 4 walkthrough from some random person, they were doing that to some radio show in Henry's apartment to some person questioning the events of the game or something, but like, half the time he'd just move his head or something in circles and act like a maniac instead, LOL. XD That was kind of funny. :p

Think it was the chained up person. In-game refered to as 'the man in the basement', but ABG said woman in the bunker. I already thought it was a woman before the sister said anything.

So it seems like the landlord and monk were working together to sacrifice women. That 1st missing person you hear about on the radio was the 1st, the daughter of the old lady in mourning.
Maina, the 1st main character is the 2nd sacrifice. The sister was about to be the 3rd, but by freeing what appears to be the son mentioned in the diary, that saves you from being killed by the monk and landlord.

While I think this game is good and all I would really enjoy if you play more point and click games the reason I say that is because I like the feeling you get from using you brain to solve a series of logic base puzzles,, but the Real reason I like maniac mansion is it combines the dark an for boating element's and fills the gaps in with a variety of interesting and well thought out puzzles.

Dude Chilla's art fucking sucks. He had The Convenience Store and the other one thst were decently good, but other than that it's just borinng roaming around and thats it. Yes the art style is nice but thats about it. I think a lot of people who are into the horror genre would agree that Chilla's art games is nothing but a waste of time.

Not a singular he, two brothers.
I remember the first few were quite interesting. Personally, I find stigmatized property, the ghost train, the convenience store to be the few interesting ones. Unfortunately the subsequent games just seem similar and started to get boring after that.
I think they’re sufficiently decent at establishing atmosphere and bizarre convos. But other than that, I’m kinda over walking sim style games. The gameplay usually loops around the same mundane tasks, which I feel is more prominent among Japanese culture what with the fears of drudgery, “sticking out from the crowd” and such. I’d just like to see a horror game thats less scripted and more randomized, like Gloomwood or something. Horror is a genre that benefits from unforeseen events, and the more scripted it all is, the easier it is to pick up on certain tropes and pattersn.
