Well to be fair only the God Cards are like that since they basically became the new vessels for them after the stone tablets. They were the most powerful and they still existed afterwards so they still had power. All the others are just holograms. It’s better to just sit back and enjoy the ride and not think to hard about most animes. 🤪
Fun fact. In Egyptian mythology when a pharaoh dies and moves on to the afterlife they are suppose to be welcomed as gods. In the new movie when yugi was dueling the cube guy, Atem returned with an earthshaking beam of golden light similar to what you see when a God card is summoned, that's hinting that Atem has received his godhood after leaving to the spirit world.

I think a more accurate fight would have been Atem vs Goku with Atem having real summons like he did in the episodes where he returned to the past. It would be like a god of war battle with Goku playing the role of Kratos
New idea imagin goku charge up his strongest kamehameha and then pharaoh atem bring out exodia and exodia uses obliterate and the two beams clash and then you hear the dbz announcer commenting on the clash and do the next time on dbz.
It is so awesome that monsters from his deck can be made real and used to fight by Atem’s side with their actual powers. No holograms here. Real. Frakin’. Duel Monsters.

In one way it looks really awesome and over the top on a positive side.
